The Lôn Las Cymru is long-distance cycling route through the heart Wales on traffic-free paths, cycleways and quiet roads. We refer to it as "El Cymruno". It travels through the most hilly region of Wales, from the Brecon Beacons to Snowdonia taking in some of the most stunning and diverse landscapes in Wales.
There are two versions of Lôn Las Cymru, you can either start at Cardif bay, or in Chepstow. We've done the latter, the Chepstow to Holyhead variant. This version of the original route is slightly longer than 240 miles, but we included some additional detours to see more.
We rented three-speed basic Bromptons from a Brompton Bike Hire locker in Bristol.
This short film covers the second half of the journey, following the cycling in Mid and North Wales from Llanidloes to South Stack Lighthouse near Holyhead.
