Thank you. I'm no pro but been doing the motor head thing for 50 years. Hope it helps.

Hi Lee, my name is Don I used to be a member of the MVCC club,I’ve met you on couple occasions. I really enjoyed your U tube channel always very informative, with a ton of information. I’ve been to your shop in the past and was just wondering if you do work on other peoples jeeps. I rebuilt the motor in my M 38 jeep about four years and it never has seemed to run right.

Don, it is just a hobby shop but my buddy Ray and I like to tinker and help others out. If you can get your jeep here, I bet we can figure out what's up.

love the series, and forgive me if you have already covered this, but what is the process for replacing the water jacket frost plugs, and how can I test them to make sure they don't leak?

What did you use to seal the head studs in to the top of the block? I have used teflon based thread sealers and have not liked the results, especially when dealing with some worn stud hole threads.
@hummernutsfl2 жыл бұрын
For stud threads i use old school Permatex type II. Never had one leak.

Was wondering if you have had good luck with the Joes Motor Pool rear main seal?
@hummernutsfl4 жыл бұрын
So far, I have only used one of those seals. It is in a cj2a motor and has about 600 miles on it. No leaks so far. Seal looked nice. I think it will work fine.

Hi, Thanks for the video, watching them one after the other! I have a question regarding the camshaft gear installation as it seems to me that this was not cover in the video (maybe I skipped it). I had to remove the fiber gear which was well worn out on my '51 3A, and I am not at ease putting the new one in sync with the crankshaft. Of course there are the little "O" marking on both, but the way I understand it, crankshaft can be 180° off. So am I right saying I should first set engine on #1 piston at TDC (and how, engine in place?) which should put the crank gear in the right position to be aligned facing the cam gear marking? Distributor untouched, everything else in place. Thanks a lot in advance if you can take a min to reply me! Cheers.

Yes, #1 at TDC, timing mark in window by starter. Dizzy pointing to #1. Line up the marks and you are good.
