Excellent shots Liam! I really like the 2 photos of the girl with the bubbles... Although the backgrounds are quite busy, they don't distract from what the photos are as you've placed her nicely in the frame. That photo with the girl covering her face is a beauty too. Looking forward to the next one!

Cheers Craig! Glad you like the bubbles photo. I think the nice light helped a lot there. Might be a bit of a gap until the next street notes, but hopefully will be worth it. Got a bit of travel coming up.

Great, I enjoyed watching that with your commentary. Do you have any tips on how you focus so fast with the digital leica range finder as subjects are moving towards you or away from you? You seem to nail it all the time and you are quite quick.

Thank you! I hope for bright sunny days and I use f11 or f8. Then I developed a feel for where the focus tab needs to be for everything from infinity to about 6 feet to be in focus. If I feel a subject is closer than 6 feet I pull the focus tab to roughly 3 or 4 feet and there’s a good chance it will be in focus. It’s taken a while to get used to but it’s allowed me to be faster than if I was to use auto focus. That being said. Some of my favorite shots are slightly out of focus and I’ve just accepted it as part of the process. Sometimes the imperfections make the shot better somehow.

hello liam. I follow and like your channel. I had a question for you. Which fujifilm body and lenses do you use for your wedding shoot?
@TheLiamGordon
@TheLiamGordon 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Serkan! I actually use canon for weddings. I just used fujifilm for street and personal photos.

A good way to get away from a hit-and-miss approach (or quantity over quality bias) is to shoot film - and actually pay for each shot. It instills discipline, improves anticipation, and grows your 'keeper' rate. In other words: Want to become a better photographer? Shoot film.
@TheLiamGordon
@TheLiamGordon Ай бұрын
@@bernardlesperance742 I started with film and still have it around but I made the most improvements and have the most fun with digital. My keeper rate may be lower but my portfolio growth rate is far higher because I find myself experimenting and working scenes harder. The great thing is we have all these mediums to find the process that fits us and the slow and steady film process is an asset to many, especially those who grew up with digital.

Liam, the guy in the red ‘skirt’, if you crop into the image so that the trumpet is just inside the crop and use the window frame as a frame, it could be a really great closeup… you did say guy didn’t you? 🥸🇺🇦🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Yeah I dunno why I didn’t try a close up too. They actually might have been female 🤷‍♂️ I just made an assumption. I’m also not sure if it’s a skirt or wide legged pants. Given our heritage I don’t think we’re in any position to judge a man in a skirt 😂
