LEGO MESSED UP? 2024 LEGO Star Wars PHANTOM MENACE 25th Anniversary LEAK PROBLEM!

Definitely disappointing. Glad they are at least recognizing the fact it’s 25 years since the Phantom Menace. But I would’ve liked to a MTT, we haven’t seen one is a long time and the previous one is going for absurd prices. Also a tan AAT to go with l would be a nice set to see. Maybe another droid troop transport. Might be copying those sets from that time here😂, but they are heavily needed.

I actually agree with you. I'm not a mini-fig guy (most of mine live in a container) or a prequel guy, but there is a pretty strong correlation between prequel fans and mini-fig fans. Lego should make a better effort to give the fans what they want.

As a guy who has 80% mini figs in his collection, you’re right. A lot of prequel mini figs are old, overpriced, or just don’t exist (yet).

Definitely agree on the duel of the fates diorama. That would have been awesome. A yellow N1 starfighter would also have been great, but maybe they will just do that as a UCS since the Mando version was so recent. Definitely Watto and Boss Nass are sorely needed figures.

The only take-home message I am getting from the 2022 AotC anniversary and this year TPM anniversary is that the OT trilogy bias still stands and much strong even when it shouldn't have any space. R2-D2 & C3PO buildables, the ""Rogue Squadron"" swap combo, the Death Star Play set, even the Tantive IV is feeling out of place (especially with that quality for Fives)... The only acceptable OT combo this year for me is the Sail Barge (because UCS) + Sarlac Pit. Like, c'mon, give us almost-only dedicated anniversary sets, some space for moderna era sets ofc (like Mandos) but most importantly PLAY-sets if anything

I think what we're getting for this anniversary is quite disappointing. The Droideka and Sith Infiltrator are great and I have high hopes for them, so I don't have any complaints there. I don't really care if the Sith Infiltrator isn't good since we're getting all those minifigures with it which I'm looking forward too. However, I think they should have done other stuff instead of the other sets. A Theed Palace Throne Room with a new Queen Amidala is something I really want. However, I think it's worth mentioning that the Tantive 4 set and the Captain Rex Microfighter are the highlight of 2024 for many people, so overall what we're getting this years seems great. I can understand they didn't put too much effort in the Phantom Menace stuff since they're giving us other amazing Minifigures, including the Malak. Still, like in 2022 for AOTC, we barely got any stuff for it, so I think when these 20th anniverseries happen they should stop with the Imperial Era stuff, especially sets like X-Wings, and focus more on the sets for the specific movie for that year.

Great critiques and point of views Tyler. You know the more I think about it the more I feel that instead of the Sith Infiltrator, Lego should’ve given us Queen Amidala’s Nubian Starship with the current fig lineup plus an Obi, young Anakin, and Maul’s speeder in honor of the 25th anniversary.

Honestly looking forward to the Droideka the most, The Sith Infiltrator is great but I do agree we are lacking in figs, I was really hoping for Shmi, Boss Nass or our boy Fode and beed in some sort of set but ill hold out a smidge of hope for the promos.

MTT, tan AAT, droid carrier, Theed Palace set, Royal Naboo Starship, ep1. Naboo Starfighter, Gungan city, Watto’s Junkyard remake, maybe a build your own pod racer set that’s customizable, a $30 Gungan battle pack with those creature builds and catapult for those purple orbs. These Episode 1 sets would’ve been great to get. A duel of the fates set. LEGO has so many great options to choose from. Remake or a first time set. Any one of these would be amazing to get.

In a way, the worst thing to happen to the prequels is The Clone Wars. We can’t get more than a handful of movie prequel figs in a given 5 year period because most is just random clone wars sets and redos of 4 of a handful of sets per prequel.

@@LifeBricks Definitely a nostalgia play for millennials who were around for the marketing push and saw it in theaters as kids (aka me lol). Doubt most kids nowadays even watched it or care about it. Parents influencing their kids are gonna push them towards OT and Mando if anything. Line up anything Phantom Menace against Ninjago, Mario or Minecraft and I'll bet 1 out of 10 at best pick the Phantom Menace set.

@@FabuBrik Well that is a statement. I see loads of kids buying original trilogy stuff and they weren’t born in that time frame. A lot of the characters in the phantom menace are popular besides there being no Vader. Either way kids will want to buy a cool set and won’t care about what movie it’s from as long as it is fun and offer something good. The phantom menace is personally one of my favourite sw movies but either way people will buy for different reasons.

@@Mr_G_Daddy it’s in my top 3 sw movies too. First one I saw in theaters. I think the kids that are into sw these days are into it because their parent had them watch it. Most of those parents are OT fans and even the soccer moms got into Mando. Those Gen X parents just aren’t rewatching phantom menace with these kids because they hated it and honestly it’s super boring for a kid watching it. It was slow back then and now we’re in the TikTok generation of adhd Mr beast or nothing. Can’t see a kid getting through even the first couple of minutes of phantom menace without losing attention.

Should have at least thrown in young Anakin with his little backpack with the Sith Infiltrator. Also agree with the duel of the fates diorama. ROTJ got two last year... At the end of the day though I'm pretty happy with the anniversary sets. The clone wars 20th anniversary was a slap in the face though. It's not 2028 and Genndy's '03 show got nothing. No Grievous, no arc troopers, no captain fordo, no obi wan in clone wars armor, no Durge, no Anakin/Ventress. But hey at least we got a perfect Vaughn, more 501st from the video game, the most obscure gunship and yoda's starfighter... Just a damn shame all around.

@@ZoomerUnion Sadly it's the truth but I fell the Bad Batch really deserves at least a great ser this year cause it's the show that will connection alot of dots about future events snd even new things yet to come with Thrawn, the night sisters and all the cloning ahead! Sad if the don't seaze the oportunity, instead of doing a mixed tie/Xwing or a Dark Fantom with random characters like dark Rey! What's the point on that front! Better to go all in on what's current culture in SWs! Besides the Bad Batch really deserve a couple of great sets!
