Lisa toured with The Rolling Stones from 1989-2015 as a back up singer. She was always prominently featured by Mick during many songs, but none more so than during Gimme Shelter. She elevates that song to a whole new level with her vocals and stage presence. Thanks Lee, glad you enjoyed this.

I was lucky enough to see Lisa three times with the Rolling Stones, and once on her own. You really need to watch the film 20 Feet From Stardom.

❤I had the pleasure of seeing the late Luther Vandross in concert and Lisa Fischer was one of the background singers! She is amazing! She is so humble! She did not particularly like the spotlight, but preferred to stay as a background singer. Luther Vandross had to convince her to do her solo album. This song won her a Grammy! I have so much respect for this phenomenal singer!

The most underrated voice of her generation. Her voice IMO was equivalent to either Whitney's or Mariah's. This is from her only album which she won a Grammy for. She toured off and on for The Rolling Stones, but her steady gig for 25 years was with the great Luther Vandross who really discovered her. She toured with Luther until his death. Lisa is still alive and kicking at the ripe young age of 65. She is still as beautiful as she ever was, she still sings around the country, occasionally in and around Brooklyn where she and I live, and she can still hit that F5 like the vocal diva she still is.

20 Feet From Stardom. Highly recommend it. The story of Merry Clayton on Gimme Shelter is just one of several amazing stories and anecdotes. Linda Fischer, Darlene Love, all of these amazing singers who, for whatever reasons, were kept...20 Feet From Stardom. Heart breaking at times. Spoiler alert; Phil Spector, who undoubtedly is one of THE most influential producers ever, was also a mentally ill ahole well before he shot and killed a woman. Springsteen successfully campaigned to have Darlene Love put into the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame as the first primarily backup singer inducted.

If you haven’t seen it yet, be s urge to check out the Oscar’s-winning documentary ‘20 feet from stardom’, about the influence of back-up singers. Having been primarily a back-up singer during her career (Rolling Stones, Tina Turner, Sting, Luther Vandross), Lisa is heavily featured in the documentary - along with several others like Darlene Love, Claudia Lennear, Merry Clayton, etc. Anyway, be sure to check it out if you haven’t seen it yet.

You guessed it, she was a backup singer. She is one of the featured singers in the documentary, 20 Feet From Stardom, about backup singers. She toured for a long time with the Rolling Stones. She discovered that she didn't like being the front person for whatever reason, and went back to backup singing.
