I've tried to get as many reactors as I can for many years to do Lisa. It just seems that most are not receptive. The most underrated singer of her generation. Lisa sang back up for Luther Vandross for 30 years and was the subject of the film "20 Feet From Stardom". Lisa is still alive, and performing in and around my native Brooklyn, she can still hit that F6, she is still as great a performer as she ever was...and she is as beautiful as ever.

@@sumi7579 Yes. But her work with those people was intermittent. She was with the 'Stones for 30 years as well, but they didn't have 100 dates a year like Luther. It was with Luther she was able to make a living...and yes, she was born and still lives just a few blocks from where I live.

@@NA-gd3sd but I'm not talking about this song which I agree it was a masterpiece.... Absolutely 💯...But I think you are missing what I was saying ... And this is what I'm talking about Whitney and Celine had great writers for their Albums all the time and Lisa didn't however Lisa's vocals were just as good if not even better than theirs but because she didn't have the same marketing team aswell as the top writers for her songs that would bring mega hits ...if you look back on her career this song was her biggest hit that she's ever done but had she had the same type of writers who Whitney had and Celine Dion had I'm telling you she would have gone down as one of the greatest if not the greatest female vocal of all time....her career as a dynamic vocalist should have had more hits ...that's all I'm saying...no disrespect it's just sometimes the best vocalist may not have the same favor as others ...

I went to that Earth Voice Concert in Tokyo in 1992. She was truly awesome. At the top of her song, she spoke in Japanese saying Forgive me, I love you and whole audience applauded her.

Lisa Fischer and Rachelle Ferrell you have really found the great singers. Sorry to say I don’t hear any comparable voices in today’s music. Maybe because R&B got put on the back burner of popular music, these artists aren’t encouraged to develop their talent. Thank you for bringing these ladies upfront. Fyi she’s still putting it out there

I have lost count the number of times that I've requested reactions to this video over the last year or two. Seems like a hundred times. Most reactors tend to stick with the bigger "names" in music. So frustrating! This was a super-satisfying reaction. Thank you for doing it! You will find quite a few videos of her performing with The Rolling Stones, as she toured with them for over 25 years, and was always featured in Gimme Shelter. There are lots of videos of Gimme Shelter in which you can see her perform, and they're all good, believe me. But this one (kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHK6kn2riZqMe68) is my favorite because of her performance, but also because of the look of admiration and respect that you can see on Keith Richard's face after she does something amazing. It's only for a second, and then the camera cuts away. It's at 3:04. Here is another beautiful performance, Beneath the Wings of an Angel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6uqiYCNg5lni7c

She still has no limits on her voice to this day in her early 60s. I saw her live in 2019, twice. The second time was when she did this song. You haven’t heard this song until you hear her do it NOW. So emotional. She ended the whole thing by scaling UP in what must’ve been a MIXED C6, paused, and then did the fastest downward scale from head voice into a bottom chest note. It must’ve been over 3 octaves in 3 seconds.

Check out '20 Feet From Stardom,' which is about the most famous background singers on many of the most famous songs of all time! IMHO I think she has much greater mastery of the whistle register than Mariah Carey. To me, she's on par with the late, great Minnie Ripperton. MR was actually the mother of actress Maya Rudolph. Your wrong. Lisa Fischer doesn't use the whistle register, she uses super hradvoice and you don't know how long it took her to "master" it, pretty sure Lisa didn't pop out of her mother hitting those notes perfectly. Mariah on the other hand has been using the whistle register since she was a kid/teenager. Both using different registers and techniques but Mariah is way more creative with those high notes.
