In late 2018 and few months into 2019, I experienced the worst physical pain EVER…due to disc herniation. I know those who have been there can relate!! 😖 thank God for physical therapy sessions… as since then continue to perform the exercises I’ve learned. Waking has also helps tremendously! I recently bought a kettle-bell weight (10 LBS)… I love the feeling of the kettle-bell swing whilst maintaining proper form/posture, of course. What’s your opinion of adding this workout to my regimen? Thank you so much for all you share with the masses!! 🙏🏽💕

I love you guys! Ive been watching your videos for years since my first episode of pain almost 10 years ago. I’ve been suffering with sciatic pain for years now. Never realized that pain in my buttocks and behind my knee were related to sciatic. Now it’s reach beyond my knee and sometimes my foot tingles. I’ve had three epidural shots which helped a little, however, due to other circumstances with foot injuries I’ve had setbacks. I really don’t want to have surgery, but it is very difficult to stretch and do exercises with the pain that I have. I do feel change with the exercises even a little bit. This is going to be a tough journey for me, but I don’t want to have surgery. Watching your videos and reading the comments really makes me feel that I’m not alone, and that I can do this without surgery.

I have found bob & brad extremely helpful and knowledgeable over the years, but this routine did nothing for my sciatica and leg and foot tingle. My local hospital physical therapist gave me a set of exercises that activated the buttocks as well as flexing the lumber spine and my symptoms are after almost 2 months gone! I was told to lie on back and rock knees from side to side, then do bridges lifting butt off ground driving heals into floor, then cat/cows on hands and needs rotating pelvis forward and back, then lumber stretches sitting on butt, feet tucked in behind knees apart stretch forward along the floor, then to finish lean against a wall and side / bend like a banana bending towards the sciatic side! 5-10 reps each, 3 times a day! Worked for me thankfully, we getting very worried and depressed with the pain and tingling! Best of luck

I was sent home with a bottle of hydrocodone but never took a single pill. I've been pain free now for all of the years since. Before the surgery I remember doing the bad push-up with the sagging belly to relieve the pain. It did work but I had to keep doing it.

🎯🎯🎯 nailed it. After suffering for decades with a herniated disc progressively worsening at L5-S1, I had a discectomy in 2016. Recovery started out well, but was soon halted after someone had literally ran into me like we were playing tackle football. Complicating things, I have major neurological damage and a spine full of lesions. I love this channel. I learn new things, and am reminded of things i had forgotten. Fast forward to 2022, and I have a herniated disc again (L4-L5). Spoiler alert, I’m not having another GD surgery. 🤦🏻♀️ I guess if there is a silver lining, it’s that I’m armed with the knowledge & experiences of the past. I have had so much physical therapy over the years (as insurance permits) but receiving continuous care isn’t possible. Ironic, because if insurance approved more continuous ongoing sessions, progress could be made and sustained. Unfortunately, it’s like a Paula Abdul lyric; one step forward & two steps back.

Self-inflicted wounds though by overextending the press-ups before watching this video. It made my back worse. I will be reducing these for sure. A couple of notes: I'm 6'4, played around with foot spacing when lying on stomach, 12-16" has been best to alleviate pain. Gently rocking side to side at the waist lying on stomach with one pillow to elevate feels therapeutic. Only a few inches side to side, slow rhythm. Starting to walk around house. Thanks so much for posting, you guys are great at what you do!

I have two herniated disks at L4/L5 and L5/S1 that are impinging the nerves. Three weeks after the injury, I tried these press ups, and was a little to aggressive so it increase my symptoms. I stopped, and focused on reducing the inflammation in the area with anti-inflammatory supplements, a month prescription of Diclofenac and icing about 6 times a day for a few weeks. Now that the inflammation is down, I'm doing the press ups again, but very conservatively, not even going up more than a few inches thus far, but it is now starting to help my symptoms. I’ve had referred pain in my hamstring and knees, usually left leg, since October 2023. I can’t sit, can’t stand, and frequently can’t sleep because it’s too painful. There is a swelling/building of pressure sensation in my left knee and I have to kick out periodically to release the tension and it will make an audible pop sound. I often have pain in my back, but not always. I almost always have pain and a feeling of pressure in my knee when I sit or when I’m laying down. When I stand, it feels like a knife being driven into the side of the knee (inside of the leg). If I stand too long, the pain spreads to both knees. I’m only 32 years old, but I’ve lost almost complete mobility. I can hardly remember what it feels like to be pain free. I would give just about anything to not have this constant pain.

Medication does help. And I try to exercise as much as possible with cardio and weightlifting. I have significant lower back pain, but it doesn't seem to send pain down my legs. I do have some hip pain at times, especially after a lot of walking or heavy exercise, especially on the right side. My question is, will these exercises still be effective for me with my lower back pain since I don't necessarily have sciatica issues?

You have to see physical therapy, then you have to exercise at home too. That way you will recover.

Bob and brad do a video on this topic physical training is necessary but how far you suppose to push and it is dangerous to push way far they do that to be really great or to be the best. For sports people or normal people. How much stress can your whole system take.

The area where my lowest vertebrae meet my sacrum has been hurting all week. I've gone through all of the SI joint, hip, tailbone, slipped/bulging disk, and sciatica videos and as far as I'm aware I haven't found any one diagnosis or set of exercises that seem to fit what I'm going through. For example, I can barely do Dr. Abbasi's preliminary self-test for SI joint issues when I get up, but it does improve after doing the 90-90 stretch for a bit. However, none of the other SI joint tests are positive regardless of whether I stretch. It's probably too dangerous with COVID to hit up the hospital now, so I'm just trying to address it from home. Hurts to sit down, law down, and stand up, but no pain in my legs at all. Walking is more or less fine. Sitting on the toilet is extremely painful (but using it is fine) and it's hard to sleep a full night, even with my feet raised and a McKenzie style towel roll under my lower back. Feels like I fell really hard and hurt my lower back and butt, but I haven't. I've tried a couple different regimes, but it feels like I'm back to square one again every morning. I'm a 32 year old student who does a lot of desk work. Please help!

Had l4 l5 bulging disc surgery on November 1st. Couldn’t even hardly walk my pain was so bad down my leg and still have one in my l5 s1. Still having what seems like periformis pain and nerve healing pain. Is there any excessive or anything y’all recommend for this to help strengthen or ease pain. Getting better with time however just curious if can help the process.

I wish I had the option to slowly start walking again.. I had a weeks off work before I've been back and they cannot give me more time off to heal until they can find someone to replace me cuz we're so short staffed. So I have to walk and stand for 5-6 hrs 5 days a week. It's been torture for the last 4 months.. AND everyone still is sticking with the more movement the better.. and when I ask if I should keep pushing through pain where I can barely stand and walk without wanting to cry and still walk more and they don't know.. the only time I feel better is when I rest and have days off.. I'm stretching and exercising daily but it's not gotten much better...

I have Mild neural foraminal narrowing, Left side of L5-S1. I followed your cobra position but it gave more pain when I was doing exersice. Could you please explain me the reason. Thanks in advandce.

I would suggest anyone who has this issue with L5 to S1 get a myelogram CT scan to determine what your spinal cord looks like to actually see how things are. MRI’s don’t show everything. I know from personal experience and now L5 to S1 fused for me.

Hi Bob and Brad, i have the disc problems you describe but doing these exersizes makes my back worse.Why?
@Enoch9402 жыл бұрын
It does take a while. Sometimes it helps to take an anti-inflammatory tab before doing excercises. I took about 6 weeks before improving.

Hi.. i have a quick question... ive gone to a chiropractor for years.. he was never manual, always adapter tool on my back.. ive recently seen a new one who immediately did an xray ..discovered my L4L5 disc's had shifted forward.. stage 1. I'm doing exercises and seeing him but I cannot handle manual hands on.. am I ok to continue my own exercises and seeing him with adapter tool or should I see a physio therapist.
