That’s common on l494 too slightly different on them but Land Rover revised the design, very cheap to replace

At least that broken pipe is quite cheap. When you thought it was around the thermostat I could feel the parts bill building up!

I snapped that one on mine when I was going through oil cooler gaskets. Right near the end I lent down with my elbow and heard a snap 😂 The new ones are quite pliable, guess they get brittle with all the heat cycles.

The most surprising thing for me is that throughout the year you are dealing with outcomes of other problems which you simply never checked. Small hint - when do you plan to start inspection with checking vacuum system and engine exhort pressure? That is a start of any engine related issue inspection…

Coolant pipes are the worst for this. They get really brittle, crack and then eventually this. Snap entirely. Not just JLR, but the majority of cars. From what I can see, or in my experience, it has been down to improper coolant changes or mixing red and blue.

Whilst your in next time change the o ring on oil cooler coolant pipe. Short pipe on right. Take it off the T, Viton BS617. 17.63 x 2.63, nice fit much better than the easy fit 18mm 2.5mm most recommend given the pipe on cooler is 17.60mm. These perish and could be contributing to leak.

We will be replacing the oil cooler gaskets and coolant O rings in a future video just not got round to that yet

That amount of oil in the intake doesn’t bode well for Pat’s primary turbo.

You have probably damage the MAF sensor when cleaning it and now the ECU is running on default fuel mapping table.
