I suffered with extreme pain radiating down my right leg into my foot. No one figured it out. Finally a doctor took an X ray. At this point,standing or sitting for almost any length of time meant extreme pain - taking showers left me in tears, sitting in class hurt, driving hurt. It was hell like. The X ray showed my vertebrae displaced by 70%. I was schedule for surgery a few months after that. Thank God. 🙏 That surgery saved my life really. I was going mad with the pain.

@@charalambos : at 70, I figured my minor, intermittent urination problems were my prostate. I'd take a herbal remedy, and a week later be fine. Since my back pain was continuous, I never related back pain to urination. Since the operation, I haven't had a prostate / peeing problem. I still have back pain, as there is more damage that hasn't been repaired. But now it's only minor back pain.

Thank you, my doctor seemed to want to diagnose with me FND disorder on the first visit, not taking into account that I just had surgery to remove a 11cm ruptured teratoma in right pelvic area. Now mri show l5 s1 , disc dissection , posterior central disc protrusion and mild spinal canal narrowing. I have terrible back pain especially with movement, shooting pain in groin ,hip area , leg front /side and bottom of foot, weakness and difficulty walking, gait instability. Yet my doctor cannot come up with a diagnosis and says those issues does not cause leg weakness and walking issues. Very weird

Your video are extremely helpful in identifying my symptoms and nerve pathway pain. I have had an MRI, and the L-5 is definitely compromised with disc slippage at Grade 3 . I ve been keeping the pain at bay with regular Chiropractor and exercises learned from P/T. Recent flare- ups have me reconsidering the next treatment options..nerve block injection’s..At what point does one seriously consider surgical options ? Im concerned that their could be more permanent damage as a consequence. If any viewers have expereinces kindly respond as I would appreciate any feedback.

Dear Nabil A, Ebraheim, M.D: Thank you for the instructional video on the L5 Nerve Root, I have a severe L5 herniated disc, but I also have CRPS starting in my L5 dorsum foot from a bunion surgery on my big toe in 2014, the pain transfers up my right leg and even is mimicked on my left leg that did not have surgery. My big toe remains with one screw imbedding it. I also have intervertebral Disc Herniation that causes Trendelenburg gait and effect the gluteal muscle and minimums muscle to flare up since I broke my fourth toe last week 7/23/23 my hernia has started to cause me great pain and great CRPS pain. I have formattable disc herniating L5 S1 which effect the upper nerve root, but now with a trauma to my fourth toe can you address CRPS in relation to the L5 nerve root and a triggered trauma of my 4th toe proximal phalanx oblique fracture.

An MRI has shown that my L4/L5 disc is abutting and potentially impinging my L5 nerve root. I never have anything going down my leg - however, I do have my pelvis twisting and contorting when aggravated (and also sometimes extreme stabbing pain (sudden, like jolt) in my lumbar). The twisting looks very much like the positive trendelenburg gait symptom you mention in this video. This is the only place I've heard of this - and many people I've seen have been at a loss to what's causing my twisted pelvis. I'd assumed that it was my left side that was being pulled up somehow (and higher) - but after seeing this video, it's entirely possible that it's the right (opposite) side that's dropping (or a combination of both). I've tried stretches, strengthening, resting - it's just not getting better. I suspect it'll need surgery 🙁 If I get my life back though - definitely worth it! 🙏

I have this same thing! Following your comment
@danclarkeuk Жыл бұрын
@@bts_fan_rkive I had a cortisone injection earlier this year, which made a massive difference. It hasn't gotten rid of all the symptoms completely - but it's still WAY better. That's not a long-term fix, but it allowed me to start going back to the gym and doing a lot more strengthening. This has all allowed me to get my life back a bit - I'm still limited in that I couldn't just go out for a run. But for me, I enjoy weights at the gym - and the injection allowed me to go back to that, and I've been doing a lot more core exercises, hoping that it'll prevent me from keep on needing injections once it wears off (which it probably has done by now). For me, cat-and-camel exercise every day helps - and also from a strengthening point of view - the suitcase-carry exercise to strength my QL muscles have made a huge difference. Obviously, I'm just saying some main exercises that have helped me - it's by no means advice in any form! - as everyone's back injurys are different, and something that's good for one person, might be really bad for someone else. One book I'd definitely recommend reading though - is "Back Mechanic by Dr. Stuart McGill".

@@ThugMaster123 A million times better thanks. The above-mentioned cortisone injection was the turning point for me. Ever since then, I've been going to the gym every day, and been getting stronger and stronger. Whilst i still will have the underlying back defects (for want of a better word) - I don't experience problems at all any more as my body's strong enough for it to be a non-issue. I've now built up to lifting fairly heavy weights, and am also able to run again. The gym and weights have really changed my life. It's obviously a big commitment going every day - but totally worth it.

Pain that moves around lower back mainly right side. Some muscle spasms. Had symptoms for 3 months then it improved for a month now symptoms are back again. Had mri I have small disc bulge L5, some facet joint inflammation and degeneration disc L4 abs L3. Which is causing the nerve sensation I don’t know and neither does my doctor. Been told that there is no visible nerve compression on mri. Toes raise up bit less on right foot. Have also had strange ache front of ankle where it joints the foot both sides. The sensation bothers me. I have been told it’s Likely muscular? 😒
