I'm glad you made the connection that even though you have no interest in cars and were dragged there, that the LA Auto Show was just a different kind of geeky convention a lot like E3 or ComicCon. Hahaha... oh c'mon, the grey skies in the NW never last long and then it's back to the beautifulness that it sounds like you've been fortunate enough to see already. The short spells of evil-looking clouds and downpours are the price we pay for all the green colors outside. Snow and cold isn't that bad Felicia, but then again I've been around it my whole life. You shouldn't be afraid of it though. In one of my glassblowing classes we had a Costa Rican girl there and it was the dead of winter. She, although cold, enjoyed seeing snow and experiencing a winter first hand. You just have to be prepared for it and then you come inside and sit by a cozy fire and listen to the fire crackle while reading a wonderful book... You'd have a great time!

The car world and the geek world are starting to slowly merge. I watched a video last year about a great in car computer system with touchscreen menus, GPS and voice control. You could play video games in the back seats using monitors built into the back of the headrests. It had a couple of docking stations for the controllers to plug into to charge them when not in use. Cars with built in computers and game systems are becoming very popular these days.

Cant wait for Grimrock...last week my weekly fill had to be replaced with lots and lots of food then falling asleep at 8 cause turkey gets me sleepy (not complaining...Thanksgiving is...fun). You'll love a classic car show. Personally the last time I went to an auto show, I felt "meh" about a lot of the newer cars that came out last year through this year. I felt a climactic relief when I came across the vintage car display in the corner of the convention center. To see the vintage beauties was like listening to my favorite band perform, after spending the day in a waiting room that played nothing but awful top 40 music.

I love cars, I'm a total gearhead. I like to name my cars too. I have a red and white chevy blazer I named Waldo because I'm always looking for it in the parking lot. And I have a GMC sonoma pickup I call Sharona the Sonoma because M-M-M-My Sonoma doesn't roll off the tongue very well. I used to have a 1974 Pontiac Catalina, which is a huge boat of a car.
