100%❤❤️🎸🏆📝🫡☮️ I’ve been playing guitar off and on for over five decades. Tim helps me understand the breakdown of tunes as well his powerhouse of wisdom from recording on over one thousand top musical records. He’s a natural down to earth instructional player . I’ve never seen anyone else teaching and working hard for his KZbin channel will doing gigs. I’m learning so much about all the variables like , guitar strings , picks . Simplicity. pedals and the smart way to play and learn to,have fun … ❤️🎸🎸🎸

I love your teaching method, easy to understand , I wish I would have found you long ago, as many of us "wanna be " players that have been self taught can only get to a certain point and it seems like we just keep rehashing what we know. I hope to be as smooth as you someday. You have given me a shot in the arm to continue this journey ..thank you

Yeah, I totally agree! I felt like I had plateaued and suddenly I found this channel and (being self taught..I never wanted to sound like I was taught by a total blazing fast shredder) suddenly I have been able to really start getting better and playing songs that I thought were way out of my league. I especially like how Tim teaches the Jimi and SRV stuff

THIS guy is THE MAN! I played bass guitar, professionally, in Austin, for over twenty-five years. In my retirement, I've bought a guitar and drum set, and set up a front room recording studio, just for the fun of it. Nobody on You Tube comes close to Tim when it comes to showing you how to play the classic Rock and Roll/Blues guitar hits I grew up with and played bass guitar on, in my band. You can't do better than learn from this guy. My recorded version of La Grange has my friends saying, "Get out, that's not you. You lifted that off the original and then overlayed your own stuff." Nope! Thanks, Tim!

I used to play and was getting my picking and fretting down as well as hammer ons and pull offs. My speed was greater than my knowledge of notes and chords. This is a song I loved since it came out but I could never sound Billy's songs out. Now thirty five years after I had to quit playing I finally see his mind and can maybe start to play ZZ Top. Thank you for doing that for me. I love the way you teach.

My ears were wide open at the time this song was released in 1973. I remember the FM DJ out of Cleveland waxing rhapsodic about BG's playing. At that time I was only imagining I was playing guitar. Lots of air guitar and imagination is what I'm saying. It was a short two years later when I got my first Fender Musicmaster and amp combo for Christmas. I can still remember that smell of the warm tube amp mixed with pine needles!

I grew a beard when I watched this
@peterpedersen16414 жыл бұрын
Funny, As you can see, I have a beard.. Back in 1984 I was building the North Dallas Tollway I am a contractor/guitar player. So the money is from Pouring Concrete 24/7. Back then it was 12 inch beard and a baseball hat. One day a white Caddac pulls up by where I was yelling at a bunch of my guys. I look over and it's the kind Reverend, Billy Gibbons. At that time, he didn't wear that cap he does now. A baseball hat, long beard, just like mine. Somebody says, Hey ZZ Top! I walked over and he says to me, "Hey Brother" Are we sons of different mothers?" We had a short conversation, but he was impressed with our building the elevated highway, etc. Then said, Go to the bar Poor Davids, which is near Dallas. Bring the guys. Well, he wasn't there, but the bar keep said, all your drinking is on The Reverend! So, that weekend, I figured out how to play a bunch of ZZ Top tunes. Pretty easy actually. So now, 30 some years later. Watching Tim show how to play it, blows me away. Back then, no internet, no video lessons, you had to put the record on, play a minute back and forth. Figure the fingering. Etc.. You know the drill if you are over 40.. LOL Rev Billy has so much talent that even when he was in his early 20s jamming around Texas, he was quickly known as the Top of the Top in Jammin Texas Blues playing. I also met Stevie and Jimmy Lee Vaugn at Poor Davids. Saw him many times there. Sold me on learning Texas Blues. Anyway, beards are good. I have had mine since I was 17 years old. Now 65, the wife loves it... Enjoy.
