I saw her at a fair in 1984 and she put on a heck of a show. She also autographed a picture for me and she was kind and gracious. So beautiful too. I’ve never forgotten that and I still have the picture. I remember she was left handed.

Two months earlier on April 17th it entered Billboard's Hot Top 100; eventually it peaked at #54 and spent 9 weeks in the Top 100... It reached #9 on Billboard's Hot Country Singles chart... R.I.P. I actually got to see her at a county fair in Lorain, Oh. in 197(?). Buck Owens was a master at picking greatly talented musicians and singers, some of whom can still entertain today. I can recall my sister saying this reminded her of me when I was drafted for nam.i loss my girl and her mom while serving.47 years later I find my daughter.this song still brings tears to my heart...a disabled.recon vet

@@christianvanneuves9958 christian ,, I thank you for your comment . The draft sure hurt alot of us . I was 19 when I was drafted . At times it seems like just yesterday . I have never really ever seen to ever find that teen ager I once was . I am greatful I made it back , even if only in body . It was like coming home to another war . That really made it so hard . Now I am a great grand father . I have been sober for 32 years now . I speak at schools from time to time .I want our young to never forget us and never make that mistake ever again . I also help all my brothers and sisters in arms .take care and peace .✌️🇺🇸🙏

I so recall this song upon my return from my service my sister told me this song reminder her of me the day I left .hippies (a jack that looks like a Jill and smells like a John ) .it saddens me now to watch her slowly dieing from brain cancer . I wish Nam would of took me instead .she wrote a real heart wrenching poem about me and my return it was posted in our paper .I never knew she felt way about me . search and destroy was changed to sweep and clear same difference .like shell shock ...and ...ptsd 😡
