My motive to join this would be my boredom in fucking life. I am tall (6feet2/187),I am fit(did gym for two years,did intense swimming in my early to mid teens),I am mentally stable,I will soon graduate from university as an engineer and I am quite rich.But man,my life is so boring,nothing incredible happens,it all became a routine,I really want to spice it up a bit,I come to the point that I really do not care for anything else in life than the adrenaline rushes.Might sound stupid but in challenging situations is when I feel alive,to know that I might die or seriously injure myself and need to do the best to avoid it.

I know I'm gonna get ripped for this but how long does it take to get enlisted, I just finished College in Australia and I don't know what else to do in life. The Australian army takes months to join and being a recent student I don't have that much cash so travelling to France would be a big undertaking for me and i wouldn't be able to stay long so that's why it's concerning for me to go. Any idea if enlistment is any fast?

Enlistment is instantaneous, as soon as you knock on the door you are considered to have volunteered for service. You walk through that door and exchange your personal belongings for issued items. Selection takes 2 to 5 weeks, should you fail it you have two other attempts or can leave. If you finish selection, congratulations ! You have successfully surrendered all your freedoms and now belong to the french army for the next 5 years.

Enlistment is instantaneous, if you pass the minimum requirements and have proper documents, however you will stay from 2-5 weeks during selection. You will do basic tests, physical, mental, medical and even interviews. Beware that they select only who they find the most capable, so if they have, per example, a average guy with past military experience and a normal guy with no training, they will have preference over the first. Its crucial of you to do basic medical exams during Australia. Be advised 3 of 9 pass selection, so it is of most importance for you to train at home. Hiking, swimming (Not required during selection, but required later), running, pull-ups, push-ups, luc leger and even training for the interview. Don't talk too much, be professional and act like you are mature. However be warned they mostly will not select young guys fresh out of high school (18-20 years). Any more doubts go at the cervens forums, it is full of former legionaries, former soldiers and even guys who are in it.

You'll learn the French language in the "FFL school" in first and in France (because the FFL is the French Army and France and you'll live also in France) quite simply after. But, BUT France has in pratically all the countries around the world, offices named "ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE" where you can learn the base of the French language and it is Free! The French is the alone language with the english speaking and learning on the 5 continents. Several hundreds of million people speak and learn French in the world. You must stop believing the English-speaking Anglo-Saxon propaganda dominant since 1945 and so francophobe by historical education (since some years 1066 and 1453 for examples ^^) ... Write also "FRANCOPHONIE" on Google Search and learn also the history of this world francophone organization...

There are different units. As a regular Legionnaire you won't do underwater stuff or parachutes, that is for the Commando units, but the rest appears to be the things they all train for (infantry combat)

I see so many people post comments on here about medical conditions that they think they have. The best way to find out is just turn up and they will tell you if you are medically fit. I never even though about imaginary illnesses when I joined in the eighties.

+tebat royo the tests are the same as if you want to join the regular french army however the method of trainning and the way of life of a legionnaire are really really hard core but you will learn at least 300 french word in less than 6 month or you do not graduate

jan kees van gaalen Legion is the Regular French Army. The test are not so hard (a long walk called "Marche Kepi Blanc between 60 km (in winter) and 80 km (in summer.) But keeping the faith is harder months after months. Not for pussies. (i'm an ex 2e REG)

avant de t' engager reflechis bien tu veux t' engager pour quoi faire ? va voir des legionnaires et demande leur qu' ils te parlent de leur metier renseigne toi aupres des legionnaires qui ont eu des problemes avec la legion tape dans la barre de google ADERDROMIL prend rendez vous avec le president deja il te dira si tu as un caractere qui te permettra de reussir ton incorporation et d' esperer y faire tes 5 ans sans trop de problemes 5 ans c' est long si tu ne supporte pas les chefs si tu sais pas obeir la legion c' est pas pour toi entre ce que tu vois dans les films et la realité ca fait deux
