WALTZ OF THE WEEK #34 - La Partida (Venezuela Waltz)
I’m back in my practice room this week with something a little different. Here’s a waltz I picked up from the playing of Ian Walsh. La Partida is a Venezuelan Waltz with a completely seductive lilt to it.
I found there is accurate notation on the session. I didn’t find it until after I learned it by ear, but that’s ok because I’ve found tunes stick in my brain longer when I’ve learned them without notation to aid.

Very nice! I like the accompaniment. Being able to hear the chord changes under the melody makes me appreciate the performance more.

Lovely playing! I think it would sound even better without the accompaniment...
