Күн бұрын

I decided to do some dispersed camping/boondocking out of the deserts of Utah and head up into the La Sal Mountains located near Moab Utah for a change of scenery. I found a beautiful spot right off the La Sal Mountain Loop Road that gave me an awesome view of the snow covered mountains. I hiked down a road to check out a look out spot I found while exploring on my motorcycle, and found a creek feed by the surrounding mountains snow melt.

I would think the print is a little wide for a dog. I'm starting to lean more towards a wild-cat myself. Someone mentions in a comment not claw marks, not a bear. So cat seems logical.

Pretty cool Mark. Thanks for showing us these "new to us" places! I follow this girl, Wandering Jeepsy, who used to run the campground at the junction, La Salle Junction campground, but it was only for 1 season and she moved on. Its the scene of the gas station in Transformers 4, the station with the slightly angled covers over the former gas pump area, add a pic for your collection lol. You got guts to stand on that edge flying your drone man, that was some excellent footage there! and great views up there all around wow! good video!

Great video/information as always. I was up in Moab about a month ago for the first time. When I rolled in I was so excited with all of the land to camp on. After three days of looking for dispersed land, I gave up and went back to AZ to regroup (the weather was still bad north of Moad and I was there during spring break so it was packed). I have never seen so many no camping signs as I did in the Moab area. I found a few spots going up a mountain outside of Moab but they were either taken or inaccessible. The next thing I know I am on top of the mountain (I think it was the La Sal Mountains) and the temp had dropped to 32 degrees and snowing with some of the steepest inclines I have been on with little to no guard rails and I was pulling a 30ft travel trailer. I have never been that scared before in my life. On a separate note, I just bought the Honda 450RL dual sport (I bought it after my Moab incident to do some scouting instead of having to drive my truck/trailer around everywhere). If you don't mind me asking what mic are you using? I have the purple panda but it sounds horrible! Thanks!
@DispersedCamperMan
@DispersedCamperMan Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I've been finding lots of BLM and Utah State Trust Land to camp on around Moab. I heard they were going to start making it all no camping allowed up to 30 miles surrounding Moab. I have been using my motorcycle to scout, which makes it a lot easier going over the dirt roads and real easy on the fuel cost compared to my diesel truck. LOL I scouted out La Sal Mountains a couple of months ago, didn't camp there since the snow was still on the ground. The snow just now cleared up to camp in a couple of spots up there. For my helmet mic I'm using the purple panda also, with a gopro.

You gave me the idea to haul a small motorcycle on a hitch mounted carrier on the back of my RV, so I sold my 2008 KLR650 and bought a 2014 CRF250L, kind of like the CRF I saw in your older videos. Now I’m only seeing your new KLR in your videos, go figure. Does not having a tachometer bug you? My CRF is my first bike without a tach and it drives me nuts not knowing my engine speed.
@DispersedCamperMan

I still have my 2018 Honda Rally CRF. Just on this trip to Utah, I chose to bring my KLR instead of my CRF. I'll still be hauling my CRF around on the back of my carrier, nothing's changed. I have no issues with not having a tachometer. I know exactly when to shift when I need to. I've never really paid attention to it. Safe Travels!
