That drive up Moki Dug way scared me and I wasn't even driving. Amazing view!!!! Can you imagine building that road?
@DispersedCamperMan Жыл бұрын
It was kinda scaring me also. If you noticed, I stayed further away from the edge while driving it then normal. LOL It would have been very easy to slide off the edge, no guard rails at all. Beautiful scenery riding up there. I definitely can't imagine building that road. I believe a mineral mine company built it to take minerals to the town of Mexican Hat for processing back in the day. Very Scenic!

Thanks for sharing Mark, plan on doing this trip in my truck camper in May. Was checking online and it stated a fee to camp at Mexican Hat Rock? Also what's your thoughts of driving a truck camper up /down Mugi dug way?
@DispersedCamperMan Жыл бұрын
The first part of Mexican Hat Rock Road is private property. You can camp there but you have to go online to the owners website to pay to camp there. Keep going down the road about 3/4 mile and it turns into BLM land, free camping. There is a sign as soon as you turn onto the road with a web address to go to to pay for the private land camping spots. All the spots next to San Juan River is BLM free camping and there are a couple spots up by the Mexican Hat Rock parking area that is BLM. As for Moki Dugway road; there are several signs prior to hitting the road that says RV's, towed trailers, and anything over 5 tons prohibited from driving the road. So it would be up to you if you do. Hope this helps.

Do you lower the camper jacks/legs to help with wind sway? Do you unbuckle the tie downs when you do? I’m new to slide in campers. Thanks for the content.
@DispersedCamperMan Жыл бұрын
I do lower the jackets to help with sway while walking around in the camper and it definitely helps with sway from the wind. I don’t unbuckle tie downs. I’m not lifting the camper, I’m just lowering the jacks just enough to stabilize the camper.

@richardduke6930 Жыл бұрын
@@DispersedCamperMan Moki Dugway trail.
@DispersedCamperMan Жыл бұрын
@@richardduke6930 I probably could make it. But the signs prior to the road said nothing over 10,000 lbs, no RV's, and no trailers. All were prohibited. So, I probably will not take my rig on that road.
