Hi, glad you mentioned going a full size up. I did purchase a pair and I went half size up and at first I thought they were perfect, but my feet started to hurt, they felt constricted in the width. I’ve sent them back and have been offers a pair of 12’s (I’ve never gone this big, but there you go) but only in the blue, I did/do like the multi colour version. Nevermind. Ooh decisions. By the way, I’m not a runner, but I love to walk and I like to think that I can run but I don’t. In my opinion, these shoes are bargain compared with others, but it’s the width that most people seem to have issues with Thank you, Subscribed

Thanks for your comment. I hope the Mutants work out well for you. Sizing does always seem tricky ... I don't know what "true to size" really means when people say that. There's no substitute for being able to try shoes on but even then you can never really tell until you take them out for a while. Enjoy all your walks ( and runs ;-) ) All the best, Georgina

I'm liking the look of the mutant but I picked up the cyklon recently as an impulse buy before studying la spotiva. They look similar to the mutant and have the same lug pattern.

The Cyklon looks like a nice shoe. Be interested to hear how you get on with the Boa system as that is showing up on more shoes now. All the best, Georgina

@@TrailMixRunning raced in them yesterday for 13 miles and they didn't agree with me either because of my feet or the design. The part where the tongue normally is caused too much pressure on the top of my foot causing a lot of pain and couldn't adjust the boa to make it any better. Normally I can play with the laces to get the right pressure across the foot. The insoles also stick up the inside of the heel and are sharp so caused bad rubbing and blisters. Very disappointed as they look good and on paper should be comfortable. I'm assuming the mutant doesn't have any of these issues? Thanks

@@jlhuk52 Oh dear! That doesn't sound very good. Neither Steve or I have had any issues with the tongue on the Mutant. The insoles fit very snugly inside (= a bit tricky to get them back in after washing) so we've not had any issues there either. Good luck with finding a fix. Hope the place you got the Cyklons from will help you out.

Yes got a refund luckily. I may get the mutants as the tongue looks much softer and better for the top of my foot/ankle. You ever used these for ultra distance?

Sorry for the late reply - I missed this comment. We haven't completed any ultra distances in the Mutants but would certainly consider them for a winter ultra.

I need moderate cushion for long distance, marathon distance. Is this a good option?

Hi Maria. I think the Mutant is pretty comfortable for longer distances, especially if the majority of it is on soft ground. They cope ok with a little road / hard-packed surfaces but if you are doing a lot of that, and so don't really need the grip of the Mutant, you might find something with shorter lugs a bit more comfortable. I think Sabrina Verjee wore Mutants for her female record on the 268 mile Pennine Way so these shoes can definitely go the distance! Enjoy those long runs in whatever shoe you choose. All the best, Georgina
