It's absolutely impossible to tell if she's actually singing or not because she's completely swamped by her backing singers...a calculated move I'm sure. And the two songs she's unassisted, she's clearly lip syncing....If she knew she wasn't a strong singer, I struggle to see why she pursued singing.

There's at least one performance I've seen of hers from a few years before this where she was singing live ("Baby Sister" in Japan). I'd say that she wasn't quite capable of pulling off a whole concert live at this point...and I'd imagine that the idea for this concert was partly Jack Gordon's idea. If you listen closely, there are bits in songs here like "You Can Count on Me" where you can actually tell she is singing, because she starts to sing for a second when the others don't, then she stops quickly. I honestly think she was a decent studio singer, judging from her early records produced by Ollie Brown, but I've never seen her really exude much confidence as a live vocalist.

She definitely has talent and charisma, but she needs world class help--the same as Michael Jackson employed. (I wonder why she never secured that level of assistance?) She will/would never reach her potential without the help of world-class choreographers, musicians (awful in the video), songwriters, vocal backup (Ouch! Really bad.), lighting, directors, etc. Without such assistance, she doesn't appear as good as a high school act. Her talent is there. If only she had the same assistance Michael Jackson did.
