What amazing idea I wish I saw this video before my delivery but it’s ok next time 🤞🏼

I’m a Med-Surg nurse and the gifts are always extremely nice to receive. Coffee, frozen pizzas, flowers, lotion, chapstick and individual wrapped food is always great(food sits and anything uncovered gets thrown out quick). Cards are always great to read on hard days. My floor pins them to a wall in our break room. Filling out daisy awards are a way to really say how much you appreciate your nurse (you might have to ask for the paper).

First time I hear about this. I’m due on the 9th! I think I really want to make some gift baskets! I had so much love for the nurses with my first, great to know this is a thing! Dropping by the dollar store tomorrow lol

Quick question: At what point do you plan on bringing these in? At my hospital I'll have separate rooms for labor/delivery and postpartum. Should we just bring em up upon arrival (during labor, I mean) or wait until we're moved to postpartum wing? Initially, I just thought I'd make separate baskets for each but I'm not clear on if there's one common nursing station for all of Baby Place or several throughout the different wings. Also, would it be appropriate to give them to our nurse or just leave them at the nurses station? Sorry if I seem ignorant, just unsure of proper etiquette in this situation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly it differs hospital to hospital on if the nurses are work both l&d and mother/baby or if they strictly work their own unit. I’d say if the units are on separate floors there will be 2 break rooms so what is given to one side may or may not be shared easily. Some ppl will discharge and then come back to give gifts. You have time while in mother/baby to have someone run out to the car and grab things as well. I’m sure whoever is carrying overnight bags and gifts is a bit much while rushing to help with labor.

I have never done it before so this will be my first time but I think I’m going to have my husband bring them in upon arrival or after we get moved into recovery💕

It went great! The nurses were SO thankful. I’d probably make 12 the next time around because I had two different sets of nurses on two different floors for delivery and then recovery. But they loved them 🤗💕
