You did right Steff by having control of your labour. My first labour was induced, and I thought I had no choice, so my experience as a very young Mum was just awful. I felt like a slab of meat just poked and pulled around 😢 I was not able to move around as I was wired up to equipment, just terrible. Yet, I realised it should not have been necessary as my son was only 2 days over the due date if that 😢 After that experience, I did not go to maternity until my labours were well progressed. Like you, I did housework and laundry and kept very busy, so my labours progressed and were trouble free 😊 My sons are all lovely young men now ❤ Your family is lovely, and your channel is so very inspiring ❤ Wow, those pies 😊

I wished i had your knowledge when I gave birth to my son at age 23. I thought I had to go to the hospital and thought i had to get an epidural. Biggest mistake of my life. They went too far with the needle. It slowed my progression down and I couldn't push because 2nd epidural worked. I had the absolute worst headache afterward and had a blood patch done to seal hole in my spine. It didn't work and had to go to the med in Memphis and have another blood patch. My back hurts in that spot til this day and that was 1988. I wished I had done without epidural and I would have had the perfect delivery!! Congratulations on your new arrival!! Love watching your videos!!

Love it. My first home birth was baby #5. I went into labor, cooked dinner, milked our goats, and laughed as my husband came in with dripping shorts from smashing eggs he had collected as he was trying to rush to get our bucks in the barn😂 hilarious. It was my 2nd longest labor, and im convinced that if I'd had to birth in hospital, they would have done an emergency c section. So grateful for that experience and looking forward to #6 in a few more weeks

Dates help to ripen the cervix 😊. Making it open easily when the time is right. Won’t cause it to open early. I’ve read that traditionally women eat at least six a day for the last two weeks.

1st baby: water breaks at 3 am, start power walking non-stop and regret it 14 hours later when your body is *just* starting to really labor 4th baby: wake up at 3 am with labor contractions, stay in bed and try to go back to sleep because you refuse to wear yourself out before you need to 🤣 This was my experience anyway lol. Resting and keeping busy is definitely key.

My last labor was an hour and 20 minutes so I feel a little more jumpy this time around and have pretty severe spd this time so I am barely able to be up walking but am trying to keep moving. So far my labors have all been 3-4 hours but I'm always nervous that one of these times i will have a hard, long labor and you took it with such stride! ❤ Love to hear from other mamas that have such a calm about delivery!

Loved hearing how you spent your time in labor. It’s so helpful to stay busy and distracted throughout it! I didn’t think I was in labor this last time around (Feb 24) because it was just lots of pressure for most of the day with some mild and sporadic contractions every now and then. I was just going about the day like any other, and I thought I was in for a long haul. I realized by about 7pm things were probably going to gear up, and we got to the hospital at 8:06pm, still not convinced I was close to delivering. 10 minutes later I knew baby was coming! I pushed her out at 8:31pm. So fast and smooth, it was beautiful 🤩 So glad your birth was smooth and enjoy that gorgeous little boy ☺️💙

I've loved listening to your birth story. It's so positive. I've had 2 c sections. My first had a little meconium at 38 weeks. I was admitted, and within a few hours, they put me on the artificial hormone. Soon after that, they broke my water. Less than 24 hours later, I was told it's dangerous for baby having no fluid this long, and I was only 2 cm, so I had to have a csec. My second, I wanted a vbac but once I hit 40 weeks, they told me they won't let me wait longer because it's too dangerous and was scheduled for a csec. Was then told I could never have a natural birth. But listening to women who have had a vbac after multiple csecs and listening to you, I really want to try again and just let my body do it's own thing

How do you prepare for your water breaking in your bed? I remember my doctor measured my amniotic fluid with my first and told me I had twice as much amniotic fluid as I should have. Everybody thought I was having twins for sure. I ended up having to have a C-section, when I was trying to have a natural birth… She got stuck Sunnyside up and of course they wouldn’t do anything at the hospital to help things move along. They won’t allow you to drink and then they didn’t even offer me IV fluids, knowing I was dehydrated. Anyhow… when the doctor broke my water, he was leaning over to dodge town because he was so worried it was going to go everywhere because I had measured double fluid. I spent those last few weeks a little worried about ruining my brand new Tempur-pedic mattress. I think I just put down a waterproof mattress cover. But I know at the end of my pregnancies… That was one thing that always bothered me was worrying that I was going to ruin my mattress or furniture. So I’m curious how you protect and deal with that mess? Luckily, I was able to have 2V back babies. I know I’m going to have a round two even tho my kids are all older now.
@Musical_Magic20239 ай бұрын
My first child was 37 hours hard labor. I was told that if I didn't get an epidural 33 hours in that I'd have to get an epidural and a c-section because I was losing too much fluid. Now I truly question this after hearing about your labor...but every time I'd contract I'd tense up and couldn't get past 1 cm dilated. As soon as I got the epidural I had her 4 hours later. With my second they induced me because my water broke but I wasn't having contractions. I didn't like the feeling of losing water everywhere so I chose to have him right away. From the time I was induced to the time I had him was 12 hours. My first born was 1.5 hours of pushing, my second was half a push. The doctor joked with me and said not to laugh, sneeze, or even breathe because he was going to fly out of me. When it came to pushing she said, I want HALF a push, nothing big. Didn't take much to get him out. The first was by far the worst!

Ugh! I wish I watched these videos before my labor with my daughter. I expected it to be a shorter labor than my son and I was trying to help her engage and I danced around and bounced on the ball for hours and hours hoping it would help me progress. But it didn’t and it just exhausted me. When I finally went to the hospital I was only 4 cm and I was already tired lol but then I had to go through all the stressful talks with nurses about what I wanted and being checked in on every 10 minutes and not being left alone and I think the stress made it worse and I still tried to squat and move around as much as possible trying to get her to engage and get out lol but nope. By the time it was time to push I was so scared and stressed because I was literally falling asleep between contractions I was so tired and I did finally get her out but I pushed too hard because I was so frustrated and worried they’d try to use interventions on me if I didn’t get things going that I tore worse than my first. She also got stuck and It was just all so miserable until I finally got to hold her of course then everything is immediately better 🥰 But now I know, next time I have a baby I will be resting as much as possible through labor! I have long labors too and my son was 16 and my daughter was 18 hours. And next time I will stay more fit and exercise through the pregnancy, and then rest rest rest when labor starts!
@hannahb.29848 ай бұрын
I think dates are for softening your cervix, which it may have helped with. The long labour seemed to have possibly been because the triple nuchal cord made it difficult for baby to tuck his chin for ideal positioning (someone in your other video mentioned that and I thought it made sense). Anyways, after 2 c-sections and no vaginal deliveries (heartbroken over this) I'm just living vicariously through you ❤

@Sarah-psalm1277 ай бұрын
We stopped giving the vitamin k for our 7th and 8th babies. My opinion, why would God intend it to be this way and what are we screwing up by doing otherwise? Baby's in the Bible were to be circumcised 8 days after birth. That's right after they've started to produce clotting agents. And the amount of vitamin k administered is staggering. Why do they need that much?

@Italianbarbie27114 ай бұрын
You can test positive for gb one day and negative the next, the nice thing to remember about gb is that it’s a bacteria that lives in your gut and gets into your vagina , non pregnant women can get this as well , men can also get uti and yeast infections. You can take vitamin c and garlic capsules they also help with blood sugar and pressure. You can eat a probiotic yogurt , harmony acres online has really good yogurt , I’d look for a raw one because it has the bacteria that can feed your gut , you can insert the yogurt and garlic into your vagina then rinse in the morning , drink lots of water, and fermented foods , then ask to be tested again .
