Holidays and Other Leaves have become very controversial in India. Also, there is tremendous difference between govt and Non-Govt. Mostly these issues are misinterpreted, misguided and on other hand lot of exploitation happen. Total human rights violation. Employers and bichholiyad are enjoying all privileges.

It depends on your company whether you earned leaves can be encashed or not, at my previous organization, earned leaves could be encashed, but at my new company, we cannot encashed the remaining leaves

Sir, I work in a company based in India. It handles the operations of another company based in the US. My shift timings are EST and I work Monday-Friday. Saturday and Sunday are off. But we do not have a concept of CL and PL in the company (the one based in India) on whose payroll I am on. We just get 15 leaves a year, i.e., 1.25 leaves per month on pro rata basis. These leaves do not get carried forward to next year. We cannot encash them either. The unused leaves simply lapse once the financial year ends. We work on all Indian National holidays. We get one holiday on Ganesh Chathurthi and one holiday on Diwali. Apart from that, we are off only 5-6 US federal holidays. I am not sure if these leaves and holidays are fair as the HR is not at all helpful. Please advise.

52+52+15+8= 127 Minus 365 days -127 holidays=238 less than 240 days your getting more leaves compare to other companies in india

@@zomoto9577 What is 8 for in your calculation? I feel there are a lot of companies in my city who have full weekend off and more than 30 PL & CL and all major Indian holidays plus state-wise holidays. That's a lot more than what I get.

Hii Rishabh and Mandeep, Actually I have a question. My employer did not updated me throughout the employment that all leaves will be lapsed at the end of contract. Hi My company at Maharashtra as per Factory act gives 3 CL 2 SL for 1 year and 1 PL for every 20 days net work attended (days work attended i.e. other than Holiday and any type of leave like CL, SL, PL, Holiday and Week Off ). It further says that No CL and SL days benefit will be given for Probation period (during 6 months probation period an employee neither will be allowed nor will be given CL and SL for probation period). Kindly advise if company is right.
