Can I use a button for the play funcion? The ISD-1820 would be ideal for a project I'm thinking about. I just needed an activaction/play switch far from the "main-board". So... Is that possible?

I like to build something similar but to be sound activated and that keeps recording as long as there a sound, and then save it and be ready for more. Much like a wild life cámera but for sounds.

I am trying to make a device that will record and then play back the recording, but it plays back with a stutter. This is for a program that helps people without disabilities understand what it feels like to have one. It sounds like recorded sound is transposed down/ptchshifted to lower key..

The ISD1820 is a completely independent module and relies on the Arduino just for power. You can replace the Arduino in this case with any 3.3V-5V power source.

You can power it with Arduino only, or control it with Arduino. Both are ok.

What are you even talking about? -- You can send any kind of data you want over Xbee, regardless of it came from an SD or not. -- But that's completely unrelated to the ISD1820. -- It uses it's own internal eeprom to store the sound. If you wanted to record sound on to one, wirelessly, that could be done, you'd have to hook up a DAC to the MIC pin, and a digital IO to the REC pin -- it could be done. -- But if you already have a DAC that can make the analog signal, then, what's the point?
