Another canoe trip video that I digitized and edited from Dick Irwin’s Hi8 tapes.
In 1995 we paddled up the Labrador Coast for about 300 miles and went into Nachvak Fiord in the heart of the Torngat Mountains and then up the Palmer River and down the Korok River to Ungava Bay and the village of Kangiqsualujjuaq. We took 6 weeks to complete the trip which included several days off for hiking and bad weather.
You can see a slide show of the trip www.alstirt.co...

Wow thank you for posting this! I’m planning on paddling the koroc river and the Andre grenier at the end of this month. I would love to pick your brain if you have any information such as what time of year this was. Looks incredible!

@@vtal1 oh wow the flow was still very high for that time of year! Thank you for the info Alan. Did you guys have a firearm with you or notice any polar bears?

@@Evan_Le5 We did not carry firearms. We didn't see polar bears but friends who visited Ramah Bay did. There are more polar bears around now because of less ice.

I'll check with Dick, who did the filming, to see if he remembers.

@@vtal1 I like old camcorders,...the vintage quality. I just love his excellent filming, during your adventures. He did such a great job. It was a treat to watch the filmography ... By the way, I watched all your canoe videos.. That was very impressive. I was curious what he used, as a camcorder ?

I just heard from Dick Irwin, who did the filming. I ws wrong about it being VHS. It is a Sony Model No. CCD-TR101. The tapes are video Hi8 not VHS.
