I have been a huge fan of this channel but I have never commented until now. Stonie is the best influencer in my opinion and he is 100 on his advice. This video is my favorite to date and I have watched probably 70 percent of all his vids. Thanks to stonie for mentioning the disaster in eastern ky and im going to do the challenge and upload. MY Waterhose is busted right now but I'm going to try it. FYI I have 3 Mals so wish me luck

I'll definitely participate in the challenges (it's 110 here, so getting sprayed with the hose is going to be great!), but I'm looking forward to passing this on to the owner of one of our Malinois pups from our last litter. He's a Navy corpsman, and is planning on training the pup for Search & Rescue.

Ha! I went to an old iron mine last week with my dog. The residue piles were interesting in themselves. My dog's first sand dune experience. The old mine's buildings were similar to the type of environmental socialization you're showing here with your rubble pile. Tires the size of a small car, metal scrap, rotten concrete walls and the smell of motor oil. Definitely a new experience for my dog (it's quite isolated, so no broken glass from squatters, just trees growing through the structures). Thanks as always for the advice to go adventuring with our dogs. It's made me look differently at features in my neighbourhood! I'll try to follow along with the SAR series!

Stonnie, I haven't even started watching past the first few seconds - and already, I have to pause to comment on the setup: At 0:14 minutes, one sees a tiny canine having conquered the peak of your tires & debris mountain - showing the big dogs how it's done! "Mount Rocky Tire" is a great idea that may even surpass the famous brush pile" in popularity in time :-) And you successfully "macgyver-ed" your way into pro- search & rescue training!

Stonnie you'd be very proud of Woody as we have done a lot of Dove hunting this season and he has done extremely well!! Has found every bird even the hard to find hidden under brush birds. We practice scent training, hold and retrieve, and hand and verbal direction commands. He is very instinctive and does a lot natrually. He knows when the gun goes up it time to work!!! He cant get enough. Thank again for all your training and help to instill the basics I know that has helped. Keep you the great work and be safe my friend!!

Uncle Stonnie, I'd like to see a demo of "basic obedience" commands and skills with a dog being sprayed by water. What commands are the essentials? How well do those commands need to be held while being sprayed? Give us a sense of a benchmark performance, please!

@@StonnieDennis Maybe I mistook your meaning. I didn't see a 'sit' or 'stay' under a water spray. I saw you walking dogs around a confidence course. They looked great. But I didn't see a recall in the rain or with distractions. And I remain unsure which "basic obedience" commands you consider to be the fundamentals. I'm getting a puppy in a few days and would be interested to get your take on "basic obedience". I've looked at a few of your older videos, but still don't see how you train a solid recall. It seems to me that many of your videos make some assumptions about where people and their dogs are starting. Or have I missed something?

Hey Stonie! I still have that GSP mentor dog that you could use. She's the Michael Jordan of environmental socialization and retrieving. Just got another one and she's quickly learning at 11 weeks.

Thank you for this! I have four dogs all litter mates now 3 years old. I have followed you since they were babies. They all have good leash skills and manners and would follow me anywhere. We live on a farm and I must say the I have done a huge mis service to them. We have a vet who comes to our farm when we need her. Well last week she was out of town and I had to take one to a different vet. It was chaos to say the least! He was very scared and wanted to meet all the other dogs in the place I did control him but not the way I expected him to act as he is calm and very obedient at home. Please give me some advice on the best way to take each of my dogs separate from each other to help them and me be better! Thank you! My dogs love to work in all kinds of weather!

Stonnie you are a good guy, I am from Germany and watch a few US dogtraining channels, you are by far the most reasonable who actually tries to have a resonable relationship with each dog and use an actually balanced approach to dog training instead of short cut tools which are starting to get banned all over europe
