I have a hole in my heart just watching this ending and I didn't work with Holmes. The amount to effort you put into these dogs is unreal...UNREAL. Kings to you Stonnie.

I volunteer at a rescue and consider myself a tough dude, but my word at the end of this video had tears shed from my eyes. We need more compassionate people like you in dog training, the love you have for the dogs and training them is unreal. Thanks for these fantastic videos Stonnie, they truly make my day!

You made me laugh and you made me cry!!! Most of all you made me so proud and happy to know I have given my puppy the best Search and Rescue foundation training there is, so now I can take over!!!! I know I have written this before, but it bears repeating... I have done a lot of search and rescue training with my two previous dogs; German Shepherds, so I know the challenges involved. The challenges are not simply with the dog, but with the trainers themselves!!! Oh yes...and I know the SAR trainers are watching this( : D . Most are unwilling, or more likely unable to do this work with a puppy, and this is just one of the things That makes Stonnie and his training methodologies so great! This is the crucial time period when the foundation should be done to build their confidence emotionally and physically one paw step at a time and stress free. When you are searching either for a living or deceased victim on top of a rubble pile or in a boat with waves rocking it, this is the time such a foundation makes a difference!!! Thank you STONNIE DENNIS for rocking it, and making Search and Rescue Training GREAT AGAIN!!

Don't know who's more lucky, Holmes for being given such a gift of confidence and a friend he'll remember for life, or Stonnie for being blessed with receiving the love, admiration, and trust of such a fine animal. Agreed, saying farewell to such a buddy is gonna be rough, every time. Each dog digs his own hole into your heart to fit into and call their own.

One of the most epic Stonnie-videos I've seen so far - just bookmarked this one to watch again, as this song, along with the scenery, is absolutely beautiful. And I totally understand you being sad to let this little Labragoat go again. Who, by now, will be an adult, but thanks to the video, we can enjoy time travel.

This was an enlightening series on how to environmentally socialize a pup. Looks like I have some work to do! I used to rock climb in the Red River Gorge / Daniel Boone National Forest... what a beautiful part of the country. Couldn't tell you how many times I've been through that tunnel. Do me a favor and swing by Miguel's and enjoy some awesome pizza and an Ale-8-One.
Really enjoy watching your dog movies. Not just very instructive, but seeing all these happy dogs, wonderfull nature etc is so satisfying. Thanks so much!!

What an absolutely AWESOME video! The perfect blend of professionalism and compassion for the love and challenge of an animals optimum potential being breached. I have watched hours of your videos in anticipation og beginning my journey with my new lab next weekend when I pick him up from the breeder. Looking SO forward to applying ALL the principles I am learning from your videos. Let the journey begin!!! Thanks Stonnie for sharing your expertise and compassion for dogs.

I can’t believe i cried at the and of the video. I whatched your videos almost all of them in one week. I live in Germany and I cry and feel some melancholy, though I have never been to Kentucky. Thx for this beautiful song. Holmes eyes are beautiful. I am so proud of this little guy. I couldn’t do your job. I could never let him go. His new parents are blessed with such a nice buddy Holmes. Love how you say „holmsi“, full of love. Stonnie you are a Great guy. Keep up your work. Greetings from Germany. Jana

Stonnie, I've had the pleasure of owning labs for 40 years, and my girls are considered to be very well trained. You are in my opinion the best of the best, and give me inspiration at 70 to train my new Pup. Thank you. I think i saw Mr. Homes having fun last week.

I love how he has conversations with Holmes. I talk to my dog all the time. Cryin' my eyes out. Holmsi will be famous one day. I have a lovely 2 year old black lab who I am training and I want to be better so he can be better. I am getting a puppy this winter, God willing, and want to start her off right from the get go, so I found your videos. I can see some things I'm doing right, and could improve on, etc. The variety of activities you put them through blows my mind. Nothing boring for man's best friend. Thanks!

You broke my heart! It really must be bitter sweet to raise a puppy, give him unique gifts, form a strong bond of love, teach him to be a good dog citizen, and then hand him over to someone else to share his life with. Very sad to lose him but you must also be a very proud pappa to do what no one else could do and send him out in the world to save lives. You are a hero, albeit a heartbroken one. You're also very special...I would have been much more selfish I think.

That is exactly what Stonnie has done! I have dealt with many trainers over the years, both Search and Rescue, regular obedience and in Schutzhund/IPO. They are few and far between that have Stonnie"s abilities to read dogs to figure out how to train them!

Man, I'd be figgerin' a way to extend the axel on that kayak-cart and fix some 2-ft. bicycle wheels on it - for hauling it over those rocks! And I see that river and wonder what kinda fish I can get to dance on my line! Can't do that walkin' an' haulin', but I get to places with a boat-ramp and yank my inflatable off the tailgate and into the water - then go park and my dog helps with balance as I hobble back so we can get in. LOVED that trip through the tunnel, and I don't think there's much prettier a sight than driving those country roads! Especially come October and the trees paint-up! I've had people comment on how good my dogs are educated, and ask me if I'd train their dog... told 'em when I'm done, that'd be MY dog... that they should learn to read their K9 and educate them their own self. Gotta try and see the world through a dog's eyes and with a dog's mind - never could understand why most folks can't do that like I do. So I understand what you're talking about with going through the education-process and then having to send 'em down the road. But feel GOOD - that in the years ahead of this little boy, he's gonna help a lot of people when they need help the worst! Lost, broken limbs, or buried in a fallen building - he's gonna do his job and be happy doing it! You've blessed unknown folks by letting him go! ❤️

respect, bro. we sent 8 dogs back to Guide dogs after a basic foundations of socialisation training...and were privileged to have 2 come home to us. I relate to the pain... but they make a huge difference in the world after they leave us, so for them and those who trust the pups to us, it is really worth our time and releasing them. blessings, Fiona

Hey Stonnie, Congrats on great video formats and the fact you show the training session from start to finish and see what to do when the dog doesn't quite nail it and the way you calmly get them to try again and win!! I personally learned alot by watching the dogs your training loose concentration and why... helps me pick up the cues with my own dog. I love the fact you show it all, not just a snippet of a success. Keep doing the videos please, i think the whole approach is the best I've seen. P.S. Any chance you can get an update on Holmes from his owner on how he is doing with Search and Rescue training now? :)

Hi it’s the gal that signed up earlier when I saw your video on Catahoula Leopard Dogs killing owner. I asked if you were in the area of Raywick, Finley Ridge, Campbellsville Marion County KY Now that you are on a lake, would it happen to be Green River Lake?? Just curious. I enjoy your videos so far, and it’s nice when you run into people familiar with the area you grew up near. Anyhow, I hope that you are having a break from the snow. God bless!
