Dr. Schneider is a badass surgeon. He repaired my shoulder after numerous dislocations throughout my life and I feel 100% now. I have heard horror stories of incompetent surgeons making shoulder issues worse, grateful to have the best of the best.

@@floresnashvilledrummer I tore it in a completely different area and tore a larger portion this time... I’ve actually opted out of surgery and pursued dry needling, adjustments, and lots of PT. Very nice model. I am 46 and had a partial dislocation 20 years ago, followed by some PT, then Had a complete dislocation 2 weeks ago. Thus why I’m here! After reducing it, I had a repeat dislocated shoulder 3 days later. Immobilized it for 2 weeks and now doing some basic PT very easy to gain muscle strength. Mussels felt very weak. Don’t know if I should press for surgery or PT. X-ray and Ultrasound came back with positive feedback with not pathology of tears of the cuffs or biceps….

Having a labrum tear, what makes the risk of artherisis higher later in life, having surgery on it or letting it be and just doing pt?
@Heffey022 жыл бұрын
The problem depends on the type of labrum tear and what your goals/risks are. Also, is arthritis higher in ppl who have surgery? Hopefully, pt and healthy lifestyle could prevent it?

i've been lifting for more than 2 years now and last month my left shoulder started paining, it only used to pain when i lift my arm above my head, it was kind of a shock. but now that pain is gone but i am experiencing pain even when i'm resting. and sometimes it goes to my arm or even palm of my hand. can you please explain what it could be? does labrum tear causes pain in arm or hand?

karthikronfils i don't really remember haha, its been more than 2 years since i commented here and the pain is completely gone thank God. I rested for more than 4 months went to see a doctor but found nothing, someone told me to try fish oil supplement. It has omega-3 fatty acids that could be used to improve the healing of ligament injuries by enhancing the entry of new cells into the wound area. And after i took fish oil supplement for only 4 days, the pain was completely gone and i went back to lifting heavy weights.
@xavier_sz4 жыл бұрын
@mueed ch so you did complete rest, no lifting whatsoever? did you do any rehab exercises during that time or literally nothing. And also is there any specific omega 3 fatty acid brand you recommend? If you respond after all this time i wpuld greatly appreciate it, really lost and stressed with what to do
@mueedch58344 жыл бұрын
Xavier yup, no lifting at all, and i did try some rehab exercises but nothing really worked, and the fish oil supplement i take is from "Holland & barrett" brand, it's the only fish oil supplement i ever took, im not sure about the other brands. My shoulder is completely fine now and im lifting heavier than i ever did!

PLEASE HELP ME! I just had an mri and the doctor said it’s a labrum tear he said my labrum had been worn down. No specific injury that I can remember caused this. I’m 16 and don’t know what to do should I get surgery like he wants me to? I played football with this injury and my shoulder has never dislocated I’m not returning to ball but I do like working out. Is surgery necessary?
@ravitejakoduri70096 жыл бұрын
If you are a foot ball player, you don't need a surgeey. But the labrum tear causes decreasing the streangth, muscle size. If u r a bodybuilder you definitely need surgery.. I had a labral tear surgy.. I am bodybuilder.
@A66-m3u6 жыл бұрын
I am also 16 with a Labral tear. Been lifting for a year now. Unfortunately I’ve teared my labral when I was overhead pressing. I only do simple raises and light benching, about 60kg. Doctor said I’ll need a surgery later on if I still keep lifting. Indeed, if you don’t get a surgery, as far from what I know, you could get a fully arm replacement. Why? Our age is still young and therefore we are still growing. The shoulder will fully become unusable( out of socket and fully teared labrum) and loose. Pretty scary! My stances are, surgery is pretty ideal. However, some people get even worse after surgeries. So find a doctor that can actually do the surgery nicely so you can be satisfied. Nothing to be scared about, there are people with no arms. Don’t worry about losing muscle, muscle memory will kick in and smash it away! Stay cool and keep working for your dreams💪
@martingibbins66216 жыл бұрын
Find a good competent sports physio/doc and don't allow the surgeon to dictate your treatment. Most degenerative tears/fraying don't require surgery. However there are exemptions. 16 is pretty young to have a degenerative tear though. If i were you I'd be working on shoulder stabilization exercises firstly, to address the underlying shoulder instability that may have led to your tear.
