Not only is Labyrinth one of my favourite childhood films, but I also have a very personal connection to it. After my dad's cousin's passing in 2012, I inherited the necklace worn by David Bowie in Labyrinth. It turns out that my dad's cousin (who I loved very much) worked on the film and hit it off with Bowie, who gifted him the necklace. Everytime I see people express appreciation for the worm, or the old man with the bird on his head, it warms my heart because that's what my dad's cousin worked on.

What an amazing thing to read. I have loved that little worm ever since I first watched Labyrinth as a child and in my 40s I still think he's the sweetest creature ever. Hold on to the necklace and never give it to anyone else ❤

Wow you are SO lucky! Worn by the legend David Bowie himself 👨🏻🎤😍 Am a huge fan, and actually have one of Ludo’s horns, as my dad was a model maker and had worked on lots of things and made connections. Labyrinth reminds me of when I was a teenager- how I wished I was Sarah! Now my Grandchildren watch it ❤️ I live in London and didn’t realise the bridge scene was filmed here! I will HAVE to find it now! 😍

OMG 😮 This is my absolute all-time favorite film because it has EVERYTHING in it: light horror, fantasy, handmade effects, best atmosphere, humor, love, wonderful friends, incredibly great ideas and last but not least a great score and great songs by the great David Bowie. The ending of the film is one of the best I've ever seen and the characters are just awesome, especially Sir Dydimus. I remember that as a teenager, after the film, I borrowed the soundtrack as an LP from the school library bus, copied it onto a MC tape and listened to it over and over again on my Walkman while I rode my BMX bike around the area. I saw the movie first on Betamax Video, later on VHS, then I owned 2 DVD Versions and now 2 BluRay Versions. For all these reasons, this film is and remains my No. 1 and after that come films like Jaws 1+2, Highlander, The Crow, A Nightmare On Elm Street 1+3, Trick'r'Treat, Fright Night 1+2, Evil Dead 2, Braindead ('Dead Alive' in America), The Blob (1988), Bill & Ted 1-3 and so on. So thank you for this wonderful post 🙏 Maybe I should think about traveling to there, too, because it's not soooo far away from Köln 😁

I had no idea the opening scenes were filmed in England and now a visit to that park is definitely on my bucket list (I'm English, if that wasn't obvious...!) I'm glad you had such fun running over the bridge and it's cool to see it from other angles and see that it's actually grassy ON the bridge itself, and isn't bare stone. Thank you!

Yes, I'm always going to be a Jim Henson/Henson Studios fan. Labyrinth had some amazing music and Sarah's dress from the masquerade scene is still something I'd love to eventally make just to say I did it. To this day, I still say "Ello" to people too. That little worm is amazing. I had the fortunate joy of seeing my favorite character from the film, Sir Didymus, in person for the puppet at the puppetry museum in Atlanta when we went for the Dark Crystal exhibit and I had no clue they also would have some Labyrinth stuff there. I fan girled so hard at that and took so many pictures and video of him. It was in fantastic conditon still and will forever be something I cherish. Also, rest well David Bowie. @kaysmith89925 ай бұрын
I agree never a remake, I think the best thing they could ever attempt to do would be vague reference/crossover to the Labyrinth world in a separate fantasy, like for example a new Dark Crystal series where we see Skeksis inventing Eternal Stench and sending it as a gift to other planets, or Aughra's planetarium including a Labyrinth model.

Great video - especially when the swan was swimming in the exact same spot as in the movie. You know, it reminds me of the time I BSed my way into Pinewood Studios in the summer of 1985. I was 19 years old and I had an appointment to meet Roy Field, who contributed to the effects of Superman the Movie, and of course Labyrinth. Within a minute of meeting him, Field could sniff that I was just a movie-obsessed kid, but he kept the meeting going and was extremely kind and forthcoming. He showed me what he was working on re Labyrinth, then he took me on a tour of some of the soundstages. I was actually allowed to go on to a large Aliens set - specifically, the corridors of one of the ships. Then, he said goodbye and put me into the hands of another SPFX fellow - who turned out to have been a Kubrick crew member on 2001. He showed me around some more of the studio (including walking past Jim Henson’s office - he wasn’t in that day), and then my visit ended. That was nearly 40 years ago, but I still have vivid memories of the experience. I’m sure it wouldn’t be quite as easy to get into the studio now...
