Wow ! What a great video and fantastic camera work. Beautiful scenery in those majestic hills and isn't nice not to see any graffiti ! Our standards were much higher back then on a lot of things.

In that time, people were taught to respect private property, in this case, the railroads property. Graffiti was considered to be wrong.

Spray paint graffiti started in the 1990's and got progressively worse, as far as I am able to tell by videos on YT. It spoiled my interest in contemporary railroading, to a large extent.

@@markshogan2642 I agree and also think that it's still wrong.

@@stephenvanwoert2447 I wish there was some way to try and prevent it and also prosecute the selfish people who do this.

Yes even every ticket taxed to help build airports and highways. Up to 15% of the fare until 1962. Many pictures from before 1955. When the railroad was double tracked. Public interest demands return of this service and quick

Some of this looks like original film that Mark I video used back in the day to make VHS railfan tapes. Please share more Lackawanna if you have it. Great stuff!

Correct - This was used for Mark I Videos back in the 80s.

Many parts had equipment moving I only have seen in books. Retired before I started riding the trains in 1963 on my own. And views long gone from trees now growing up on the right of way. And locals for the Poconos that need to return and soon.

Great video, so nice to see how that line was when it was up and running. I belive they are working on this line to restore it so that passenger service will be running on it again. I cant wait, so I can take a ride on the line to experience it.

I just hope the trees are removed so you can see the things I saw from train windows!

Great to see DL&W/EL equipment, plus some Ex Erie thrown in. Too bad that there wasn’t more freight equipment.

Yes head end mail and express paid the bills. GM went right after it. Today it's slow, expensive XPO trucks. No more air mail either. The bag might be from Fort Wayne, Chicago or Cleveland. Loss of mail and express was the end of the trains.
