I'll take the motorcycles, the honking the horn, the DR traffic, the beautiful beaches, etc,ect, over the hatred, the racism, the mass shoutings, the raping of the American consumer by all those American companies in the USA. Besides, the Dominican people are one of the most friendliest and welcoming in the world; can't wait to live the there permanently. Yes the country has areas that needs work but so those big so called industrialized nations, and the people that come from those nations wanted to act like they don't have serious social problems too.

thanks for your feedback . Im Dominican raised in New York And I agree 100 % now my friend say this prayer with me and receive Jesus because if we move anywhere in the world there might be some good things there is a void in all of us that only Jesus can fill. Say: DEAR GOD I recognize that I am a sinner I repent of my sins forgive all my sins, and wash me on the blood of Jesus. Write my name in the lamb's book of life and never erase it! And thank you for my salvation! If you said this prayer sincerely with all your heart you and your household are saved forever and there is great joy in heaven and one day we will be in heaven were peace and joy and God's love are ETERNAL!!

Driving is a challenge in DR as well as Italy, France, india, and many other countries in the world. There are many things that Americans and Canadians may not like about it, however, there are many, many things that we Dominicans have to learn when we decided to move to the states including learning the language, witch amazed me to see a large percentage of Americans and Canadian leaving in DR for many years and not speaking the language, we all have the same changes, love the country, embrace the culture, help with what ever you can help to improve what needs to be improve...try to learn Spanish.😉

What are you talking about people learning English in the US? All government agencies have the written material translated to Spanish and have Spanish speaking personnel to deal with the non English speakers like my mom & aunt! Heck, Even the voting ballots are available in Spanish (at least the sample)! Does DR Translate government benefits to English?? Voting? I’ll doubt it!

LOl. I am Dominican and from NY. Funny thing is that there are a lot of Hispanics/Dominicans in NY and NJ. I am sure she did not mean it like that. A lot of my family lives in the Dominican republic and only come to the US to visit and shop. They don't behave like animals. So don't act like those behaviors are part of the culture. Call it what it is. Every place has them. But we can always do better.
@unemployicus3 жыл бұрын
@@XxAlexanderProxx Well said. I know she didn't mean anything discriminatory. My family is from DR, and the first thing people ask me is whether DR is safe. I've lived in neighborhoods in NJ that are just as bad and crime ridden as any "third world" country (18th ave, newark, Irvington, Paterson, etc). No one asks that when you tell them you're from NJ though. Do people think the US is some utopia bereft of absolute hell holes? Let me tell you, it's not (and I love the US, btw). If she thinks driving in DR is bad, let her try driving in some Newark neighborhoods at night and see how that goes.

I'm married to a Colombian and we've been living in Colombia (Rionegro area) for over 16 years. Recently we thought about moving to the DR but, there's one huge show stopper for us... Healthcare. The healthcare system and cost in Colombia is excellent. Some times there's a wait but, if you have an urgent need to medical help, it's there right away. And, it's very inexpensive. I'm retired and I pay about $35/month for full coverage healthcare, with no deductible and no copay at all and that's for the whole family. So, the DR will be a nice place for us to vacation but, we'll be staying in Colombia.

Hi Linda, thanks for posting a great video! I'm in DR for a long (25-day) vacation and so far I like it here in Punta Cana (at a resort), but of course it's not the same thing as living in an actual city. My friend suggested to extend the stay for couple weeks longer and move to a big city and experience it first-hand. My question is: does the DR have many younger expats in their 20's and 30's in addition to the older couples and retirees? I would imagine it is pretty uncommon for younger people to make a move here, but wanted to hear your opinion. Thanks!
