The process is simple: users visit ailoveyou.gr, state the name of the person they want to express their love to and the reason why. AI instantly comes up with a love letter that users can edit, request alternatives for, or even change the tone of voice before sending it.
Once the recipient receives the love letter, they can scan any Lacta chocolate package using their mobile phone's camera, and the letter will magically appear over the chocolate via AR technology. The use of specially trained neural networks allows the app to identify all 36 different Lacta packages without the need for a QR code.
For a special touch, the app offers the ability for users to record their voice reading the love letter, allowing the recipient to hear the sender's words of love.
AI Love You has been hugely successful, with more than 40,000 letters written on Valentine's day alone and over 100,000 in the first two weeks. Also, it has been featured on several TV shows, and thousands of users have shared their love letters online. And after all, it has shown that technology can be used to bring people closer together, even in matters of the heart.
