Crazy to see how much prep has to go into making sure everything he has setup, is ready for its step in the process. Super cool. Thanks Ned.

I've rolled so many tube's it's stupid and I have never once thought to sand the edges so it's smooth. May not seem like a big deal but it's pure genius in my book.

Hi Ned, you may not remember me but you helped me with many questions many years ago. I had to back away after mother-in-law and grandson moved in. I have a SLD 1 # rocket tooling set and just recently pulled it out and wondered if Steve was still with us. That was a great video and so nice to watch! Thank you for sharing and great to see you again!!🧨 Dale- Pyro513

Hi, Dale. Steve is still around, but he's really slowing down nowadays. He's certainly been a rocket motor guru over the years.

It's called Laduke wrapping paper?

@nedgorski I'm looking for paper tubes with the same golden brown tint preferably in spiral but the only ones I can find are from India and that's a high shipping cost. The only golden brown I see in this country are hand rolled not sold by any pyro co. All the craft tubes sold by online pyro companies don't have that nice gold color with smooth touch. Rather they look very dull, are very fuzzy and have ugly freckles. Where can I get them?

@@MetalHeadPyro510 I'd suggest NEPTubes from WoodysRocks.com

@@nedgorski Sorry man, but that's not the same paper. I have NEPT. I'm going to have to just roll my own with the right wrapping paper if I can find it. Do you know what paper the man is using in this video? Thanks.

@@MetalHeadPyro510 In my experience, nothing beats NEPTubes, although the recent one are not quite as strong as the ones from years ago. I don't know what paper Steve is using in that video.

This is great and all but who the hell is going to be able to get a rod with a precise cut to hold the paper on the lathe while it spins?
@nedgorski
@nedgorski 19 күн бұрын
A machinist, or someone who knows a good one.
@NagashiChidorii
@NagashiChidorii 19 күн бұрын
@ i had inquired multiple local machinists for rocket tooling instead of buying from Firesmith or Woodys and they had quoted $200 just for setup and total was about $500. Machinists dont seem to be cheap so i ended buying my own lathe but i cant cut a precise line like this on a rod without a mill machine.

@@NagashiChidorii I'd bet that Caleb could/would do it for a reasonable price. He's very customer service oriented.

That's a nice setup he's got going on there. Without some type of jig like that, it's really hard to make tubes of that quality.
