"A Bad Goodbye" is a song written by American country music artist Clint Black, and recorded by him as a duet with fellow country music artist Wynonna. The song was recorded after the two toured together during their "Black and Wy" tour in 1993. It was released in May 1993 as the first single from Black's album No Time to Kill. It peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks (now Hot Country Songs) chart, behind "Chattahoochee" by Alan Jackson. In addition, it was Black's first appearance on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 43 there.
The song was also nominated for Vocal Event of the Year at the 1993 Academy of Country Music awards.
No Time to Kill is the fourth studio album by American country music singer-songwriter Clint Black. The title is a play on the title of his debut album, Killin' Time.
All Five singles from the album were top ten hits for Black on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts: the title track hit #3; "A Bad Goodbye" (a duet with Wynonna Judd recorded after they toured together for 1993's "Black and Wy" concert tour), hit #2; "State of Mind" also hit #2; "A Good Run of Bad Luck" was a #1 single that was featured in the 1994 film Maverick; and "Half the Man" hit #4. "Tuckered Out" also reached #74 based on unsolicited airplay. No Time to Kill was also Black's fourth consecutive album to be certified at least platinum by the RIAA.

This group - Charles is a monster voice, Hilary is just angelic in every way - both whom could have had amazing single careers, but through Dave in there and the glue /bridging of the gap he brings…it’s magic and timeless. THEN to have the balls to not only play this amazing song in front of Clint & Lisa Hartman Black but to do it acoustically AND to then nail it the way they did where everyone has at least 2-tears rolling down…something god given folks. Can Lady Antebellum please just release an album of my childhood favorite hits?

They are good but Clint version and wynonna just has that soul. Like they were actually wrote it for each other. I think that what is missing in most songs today. The soul, the feeling and hurt and happy in the notes.
