Gaga actually cleverly got away with playing explicit lyrics on the radio as she replaces “poker face” with “fuck her face”. She sings “P-p-p-poker face, f-f-fuck her face” every second repetition of the phrase during the chorus. She herself admitted that Kiss FM was the only station to correctly censor the song during the chorus.

It was released in late 2008 (actually before Just Dance was a huge song) but it wasn't a huge song until the Spring of 2009. Both Just Dance and Poker Face were out for a while before they became huge songs.

Instead of a bombastic and out of this world music video like all her other iconic ones this one is more intimate while still having that gagaesque that she is known for.

Poker Face is lyrically brilliant and much darker in sound, though, and I believe in the landscape of pop music, it is a much more game-changing song. One tidbit: the line is "I'll get him hot" not "I'll get him hard" lol.

This was before she had it, but Gaga did have her own line of Beats earbuds during the Fame Monster and Born This Way eras. They were called Heartbeats and had a triangular shape on the outside. She actually wears them in the Telephone video when she's making sandwiches, lol, and so does one of the extras in the video when they are in the courtyard.
