I figured out that the weird item on Dante's coffee table is a flashlight - which could mean that its dark in his office since such a long time, that he were reading those books with the flashlight :D

yeah I'm not aware of the explanation of why asia is circled in :" logic would say that since its Dante's job, he was hunting for something in that area, perhaps a demon, and was planning on traveling there, but ended up never doing it - there is also an Earth Globe can be found on his book coffee table, that might suggest he might have been interested in traveling the world, but ended up not doing it and just sitting and waiting instead
