The guy is actually an Australian Wrestler :) They are similar to Babymetal (or based on that Style), which is also a mixture of 3 cute Girls and Metal Music. It's this contrast that makes this genre called Kawaii Metal.

How did it happen? So Ladybeard was an Australian Professional wrestler who fights in maid costume in Japan, and also had his own show where he did metal music. He was apparently popular in Japan's gay scene. A talent agency (in japan, they basically also dubble as record lable) thought it was a good idea to team him up with two young singers. Thus Ladybaby was born.

I think Babymetal kicked off shit like this, and that guy had already been doing the crossdressing thing as like some shtick with his wrestling persona, and then it was like wynaut? I guess. I like that they're having fun and doing their thing; not really my favorite; I mostly like how Babymetal's doing the Kawaii metal shit, but they're decent, and they're not skimping on the metal. There's this other band..... I think it's like Death Rabbits or something, also trying to ride Babymetal's coattails, but that seems so comparatively lifeless and dishonest. Babymetal and Ladybaby seem to have something, even if forced sounding, still more enthusiastic and stuff. There's also this other band that I've seen kinda retroactively label "kawaii metal" called Band-maid, and they incorporate a classic rock/metal type sound, and they all wear maid outfits, but it's an all-girl group and they're all playing the music themselves. To me, Babymetal is pop that doesn't skimp on the metal, and actually shows respect to the musicians involved, while still maintaining their pop influence. I've seen another group like them, Death Rabbits or some shit, that doesn't even use a live band in performances, and they've been around about as long as Babymetal, maybe a few years less. That's a pop group that doesn't understand or care about what matters to metalheads, but the girls in Babymetal _were_ given a crash course in how metal bands perform and what types of standards metalheads have for metal bands, performing metal festivals for years, and their understanding of that is reflected in how their shows and music have progressed. They have the disadvantage of not being the ones who came up with the idea, but that doesn't mean they haven't grown to genuinely enjoy the music and associated community. Now, if you can't get past their vocals, that's fine... there's a lot of that falsetto shit in metal I can't take seriously if my fucking life depended on it. But it's also pretty dumb to totally write Babymetal off as "just contrived music" - some people think Folk metal [especially the kinds with harsh vocals] is "just contrived music". And as for "make music companies money" part, Tool has addressed this issue, and it generally applies to every genre - "All you know about me's what I've sold you, dumb fuck, I sold out long before you ever even heard my name. I sold my soul to make a record, dipshit, and you bought one." [and if your response is; hur hurr, won't buy music then; then you aren't supporting the bands you claim to love. Professional musicians need your money to do what they do for a living, no matter how kvlt they seem, and I don't suspect Babymetal is much different in that regard. They're just more upfront about it.]

Sorry I keep chiming in on your shit; for what it's worth, I really like that you're looking at a bunch of other shit/not specifically looking out for what's most popular. So many other channels keep reacting to the same songs by user request, and so few people are really digging into the rest of the good shit out there, the obscure or lesser known ones because they're sticking to the ones who are most popular and shit, and that's the most boring shit, like Wow, do we really need 10 reactions to the same song??? 100 best of the decade is just lmao no, there's so much great shit in the underground and so many people never hear them specifically because of shit like that, and you miss a lot because that 100 best shit is majority corporate shit; "who was marketed the best?" "who were you exposed to the most and therefore think is better?" Not to say it's like inherently bad or anything, Top 100 artists are generally pretty decent, but it's just happenstance and good fortune that they got elevated to those levels, and that makes the valleys of great or even amazing, but less popular stuff go unseen and doesn't get the chance to rise to those levels, even though the quality is on par, or sometimes better. So yeah... I think it's really awesome that you're avoiding that; maybe it won't make you the most popular, but are there no other factors to consider in the equation than popularity?

It´s not about popularity, music is a journey of self discovery, variety is definitely important, and avoid what other people react is one of my favorite parts of this channel, but more important than this is been dazzeld by the music, is to end the episode and want to hear more about the band, is to find a different kind of music that moves you and you didn´t know. It´s like Pantera, if you put to someone not prepared it will sound just like noise, i believe that he should find a path and lead from there, he really enjoyed the system of a down song, he connected with elements of the music, and this is the best part, see someone enjoyng a great tune for the first time, and not just listening to random music that a lot of times are just mediocre with nothing new, original or special about it.
