Ever since all of these kids (Ariana grande, sam smith, one direction, 5sos) came along, they've been diverting the dumb people unlike us from the grown ups (e.g.: Lady Fuckin' Gaga)

"Grown ups like Lady Gaga" please are you kidding me? Lady Gaga is still in the same artistic bracket as Ariana Grande, 1 Direction, Katy Perry, Rihanna etc. just because she is not doing your typical pop trash does not somehow elevate her into some higher status artistically. In terms of Jazz this is no masterpiece, the TRUE grow up artist of this genre are Billie Holiday, Louie Armstrong, Miles Davis, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder and even Amy Whinehouse, so please do not not try to add the woman who once responded in an interview "what do you look for in a man? A Big dick" and who wrote the lines "Bluffing with my muffin" to a category that holds true musicians. Thank you.

Well I have my fucking right to believe that Lady Gaga writes the best and most mature songs out of all of those artists in that bracket so walk the fuck off bitch. Clearly misreading my comment, I didn't fucking call Gaga a Jazz musician. I know that she's still part of the top 40 pop bracket. And how dare you base 2014 Gaga off of a song lyric from The Fame which came out in 2009. Walk the fuck off with all your "grown ups" because I think it's time for you to check on them, you know, make sure I don't pull the plug on their life support. Fucking cunt.

It's quite literally a pop singer singing over a jazz track. Jazz may do quite a bit of justice to her voice, but her voice brings nothing to the genre. Generic pentatonic runs, vocal fry and lack of melodic development all scream pop. She'd win a karaoke contest singing jazz, but she will never and could never be known for singing it. Her ear simply isn't developed in the way a true jazz singer's would be. Looks like she had a ton of fun getting drunk and giving her fans a little tidbit to make them think they are jazz afficianados or something, but nah she's no jazz singer.

This is why I love Gaga, she shows us everything she has: rock, pop, electro pop, techno pop, and Jazz!. And why can I say about her voice? Nothing more that it sounds sublime. She deserves all the succes she can reach. And this is real Gaga, she has more than one facete, and she give us one more. And people who don't understand this change (and that isn't a change, she only wants to prove that she can sing jazz) you don't know nothing about Gaga and her begining.

I would accept some weak experimental product like this one if she was in her fame era... BUT! Now? With all the new super artists coming from nowhere... This is a bad decision... In a very dramatic time. Stop applauding every weak step that she does. We should push her to do better... I know she can do better. Artpop era is over.. Move on! Ate. A lil monster that bought a ticket, went to her concerts and bought, legally, her music.

I actually believe this style of music brings out Gaga's talent more than her pop music. She shows more sophistication and will gain more respect in the music industry. She isn't a pop star anymore which is an amazing thing, she has finally become a professional singer and if people can not handle that, im sorry but just listen to those tones and her ranges and how sweet and strong she sounds, just listen to it, not just hear it but be open and listen to it.

Certainly,or probably not many,if ANY of her political/social viewpoints! BUT,BUT BUT!!! One day happened to see her commercial with Tony singing "Baby it's cold outside",I WAS COMPLETELY, FLOORED AND TOTALLY...........IMPRESSED!!! THIS WOMAN not ONLY has a GREAT VOICE,SHE KNOWS MUSIC and is a MUSICIAN in her own right!! I do not know much about her and nothing about her musical background!! You can NOT "FAKE" things like "timing","improvisation",and style!! I am almost surprised and somewhat confused to say,.........CLASS!! From what I HAVE seen and heard from her,I believe that she COULD do ANY KIND of music that she would want TO DO!! One may NOT like this kind of music,or even her kind of music,BUT only a FOOL could deny her talent!! I am certainly glad that I "discovered" her for myself,a real "gem"!! TRULY, A "RARE" AND TREMENDOUSLY "GIFTED AND TALENTED" WOMEN!!! WOW! WOW!! WOW!!!

Lady Gaga has one hell of a beautiful voice. She is one of the very best singers out there today and knocks the socks of 95% of these so called pop singers. I really like that she is not just going after the fast hits making only skimpish videos using sexuality to make money but collaborating with well established writers and distinguished artistes says a lot about the integrity of Lady Gaga. There are other pop singers out there who also have a lot of talent but they make only sexy videos to accompany their outlandish public antics to get their names in the public arena but never prove to the world they are actually very talented singers in their own right such as Myley Sirus but Gaga obviously is true to her music and has cut a clear pathway to entertain people who are seeking to discover truly good singers also. I always found Gaga to be warm, slightly shy but also a very interesting personality. It makes me feel a little perplexed why there is an insistence by some folk to serve up meme name calling when in fact she hasn't done anything wrong or hurt anyone but only made music with a beautiful voice. I only think more power to her and lets hope she continues to sing many more warm and lovingly produced music for us to enjoy. Lady if you ever read this I love you and your music and who you are:)

I have been a Gaga fan since the very first time I saw her perform Poker Face acoustically. That showed me that she wasn't just another pop star. That showed me that she had true talent, creativity, and passion for the music. She is constantly trying new things, whether it be outfits or musical avenues, and I find it so beautiful and refreshing. I am a jazz voice major in college and am so thrilled about this Gaga and Tony collaboration!! The few songs off of the album that I have heard so far are simply marvelous. They are going for that straight ahead, old school, classic sound and I feel like they are pulling it off flawlessly. Jazz isn't boring, and all of the standards they are recording come from the original American pop music playlist. Yes, Gaga has made a huge mark on pop music of today but she also understands the importance of valuing the pop music of the early days. I have so much respect for this woman. And Tony is a doll!

This is terrific. Granted it's nothing special music wise BUT it's great to see someone like Lady Gaga take a risk with her fan base that the majority of artists don't have the sack to do and would rather sell out to the mainstream MTV/VMA audience that dominates the airwaves these days. As someone that grew up listening to the classic artists like Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Fats Domino, Oscar Peterson and even Tony Bennett, I can say that I am so so so thankful I had parents that introduced me to a wide variety of music both classical up through contemporary. Jazz has always had a special place in my heart both as a pianist and a lover of the genre itself. I only hope that this move away from the music that made Lady Gaga popular convinces fans of hers to fall in love with Jazz as much as I and so many people have. It gives me hope to see her collaborate with such a legendary crooner like Mr. Bennett, Cheers everyone!

I can't stop listening to this. To those who say jazz is very boring and bland, wait ti'll you start singing or playing jazz. It's not as easy as it seems. Trust me, I been playing the trombone in a jazz band for 3 years and at some points it gets really difficult at times. It's no walk in the park. Just imagine how complex it is to sing or even write a jazz song! Embrace this wonderful type of music, just give it a chance. It might not be your typical teen pop song about sex and drugs, but it's just as good. Most jazz songs have way better meanings then most of the pop hip songs.

Pop is fun to sing along to, sure, but THIS. THIS is what singing is all about! It's so fun to try to sing along and hit those notes. I knew she was good, but her range! Wow! She really knocked it out of the park! :)

People that are hating on this need to actually learn real music. This album is a work of art. It's an appreciation of the classics the Jazz band is phenomenal and tony and gaga slay together.. This deserves nothing but a thumbs up! 👍😊

People can hate all they want, but she's getting a lot of respect for this move. She's respected and sang with legends in the passed and people are so set on tearing her down, but they won't. I look forward to more genre bending moves by this Lady. I want a rock album! And a disco one! She's so damn versatile. Go Gaga and Tony!

XnoXnameX A few. And usually she's performing so she's prone to have pitch issues. Plus her pop songs limit her range. But I see now jazz is more her forte and you can fully grasp her vocal ability.

This is not Gaga guys. This is Stefani Germanotta. Yes, I know that this won't save her career, but at least she's doing what she loves. Only a few people can do jazz, and she can do it because she's really talented. We are all used to the plasticity of pop music, thus listening to this may seem boring at the first time, but let me tell you that this music is wonderful. Don't waste time convincing Gaga to keep doing pop music, just listen to this song and enjoy :)
