This duet is the bomb! Love that part when Lady Gaga does "that would be but beautiful" lyric. Tony Bennett is the man! A legend of the Rat Pack era. He knows how jazz and standards should be sung! When Tony does that "And I'm thinking if you were mine". Their lyrical harmony and note phrasing is tight! These songs are ageless for any generation who can connect and feels the want and need of love and relationship in their lives. Love this song. when you play it it changes your whole day and can change the hope of a lonely life!

Anyone is better with Jazz,classic Country and early Doo Wop Rock. Songs from these genres were etched in the American conscience until the Rock tsunami washed them away in the 1960s. People sang these songs as they did their daily jobs and recreation! Morality was also better before hard Rock took hold. Jazz singers need to get on national TV and the internet regularly and get these wonderful songs back into the hearts and minds of people worldwide!!!! I also thank the slowly growing number of Rock singers who have recorded albums of Jazz standards in recent years like Rod Stewart,Paul McCartney,Lady Gaga,Linda Ronstadt and the late Glen Frey. Joe Rhoden I love the Jazz era, the soft big band tunes or swing dance numbers as high schoolers and youth danced away in dance halls and at high school parties, wearing suits and dresses and teaching the morals of life without fear. The beautiful ladies who sang incredibly like Lola Albright, Peggy Lee, Doris Day, and Billie Holliday dominated the field with men like Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Artie Shaw, Harry James, Benny Goodman, or Glen Gray. Either then or phenomenal male singers like Sinatra (especially with Tommy Dorsey), Buddy Clark, Dick Haymes, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Jr., Perry Como, and others. With them, dancers like Cyd Charisse, Vera Ellen, or Fred Astaire dominated the dance scene with their unique tap rhythms and techniques along with their sufficient and long lasting energy. I love it, the culture, the dance, and the people. But I have to say hard rock is good shit, there is a lot of genius musicianship in post 50s rock. The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Blue Öyster Cult, Black Sabbath, the Doors, the Animals, Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Journey, the Sweet, and so many. But that’s the music, the messages about culture usually are weak and destructive. Songs like Imagine or Killing In The Name slander or destroy the building blocks of society, from religion and nationality to authority. Thankfully wonderful musicians from the past like Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, and others stayed around or new ones popped up for jazz, people like Dizzy Gillespie, Miles Davis, and John Coltrane. Also, opera is a wonderful style. My favorite opera is Tosca. Worth the listen.

(Their other best collaboration - Here's That Rainy Day - had to wait another five years (introduced in a short-lived Broadway musical). Playing right this minute on Siriusly Sinatra satellite radio (now channel 71) is my favorite duet of this great song by Tony Bennett and Lady Gaga eight years ago. I needed to be reminded that there's a video, official, posted by the Lady herself. Everything a little out of sync including the guitar solo by one of my heroes - Tony's longest-serving accompanist Gray Sargent. He is playing his then- new 'Godin' -- a made-in-Quebec, electric archtop -- plain, But Beautiful! I see my namesake wrote a review for this one, "1 year ago" -- shared with the “Sinatra Family Forum” which Nancy terminated last summer (1/8/2021) after a 24 year run. Thanks Lady Gaga.
