From what I've been told, they don't remember or recognize their offspring if they should return, say, next year. And yet, they mate for life... Or until death at times. How would they remember their mate tear after year, but not their child,? Maybe it's whichever instinct is stronger at the time. Mating, or protect offspring

These are the times when just like in the past the eaglets spend precious time with their parents as if to be telling them thank you for feeding us, protecting us & probably telling them their good byes & that they love them. These 2 will always be very special knowing that these are Harriet & M15's last eaglets together. What an amazing job dad has done against all odds. I hope they will live long lives like mom did. E21 and E22 marvel at what a great Dad he is... They try to spend more quality time with him who always has something to do, M still makes time to spend with them when he can. I am sad as well, What a beautiful eagle family! So used to seeing videos posted everyday, Eagerly looking at my phone during the day, and noticing that it seems to getting quieter about them, Im going to miss them as much as everyone else even though I havent watched them as long as everyone else, But have become quite attached in a short period of time. Not looking forward to the day that I look at my phone and there is nothing about the Es, Ecspecially our Sqeeing Dracula and his Dracula walk, Scary isnt he!? 😂 Im not ready to let them go but know I will have to knowing they deserve to exlpore the world and make their own lives, And of course still believe M15 needs a vacation, He Deserves it! E22 has made a huge imprint on my heart. I tear up thinking of her leaving. Much like E9 what a special bond he has made with us watchers. Yes time is nearing, M15 is separating from them, hopefully roosting with a new mate who will help him heal from his trauma and heartaches. Fly high last bloodline from famous Harriett you have done her proud. This is always a hard time for me, I will miss them both so much. God speed, much food and shelter, safe travels and a wonderful life. Knowing that usually they don't travel too far from natal nest maks me feel better that food will not be hard to find. My heart aches when I think that the end is near. This has been the most emotional season with this nest since I have been following them. Dad has done an amazing job raising these beautiful eaglets on his own. I pray when they leave on their eagle journey the Lord and Harriet watch over them forever and they live a long life like their beautiful Mother did. I also pray that M15 stays in his nest and accepts a good mate and starts another chapter here in SWFL ❤❤❤

There was a big knot in my throat - it refused to go until tears came down. The best we can hope, should M15 not come back in the autumn, is that one of their offspring visits and decides to settle here, like Samson did in NE Florida. It's the end of an era which kept so many emotionally tied to this nest, but maybe there will be a new chapter...

It's amazing how God knew that the Ft. Myers area needed some TLC so He sent this sweet Harriet, M15 to help settle the broken spirits after hurricane Ian. Together we watched Harriet & M15 quickly rebuild their nest, lay a couple eggs, have 2 incredible eaglets. Together they have taught us how resilient we & they can be when life knocks you down and can only trust in the one who knows us best. Love the ones He gives you, cuz one day He'll want them back. It’s wonderful to see this family thriving. It’s been a privilege to watch them. The feather kids will be moving on to lives of their own, the last clutch of Harriet and M15. What will he do? I think he still grieves for Harriet but must know she is gone. I still believe that whatever happened, he heard her and knows where she is. I heard a muffled sound the day Harriet disappeared that M15 reacted to and flew off to investigate. Perhaps I read more into it. But I prefer to think it was an age related medical incident and it happened quickly. I don’t believe she is far and somehow that soothes me. I am hopeful these two will succeed in their lives and survive to raise their own families. They have a legacy of learning to last their lifetimes. The best, is my hope for all three of them!

M15 is so chill. 😍 Such an amazing parent. He has to distance himself so they will gradually become more independant. I will be happy when we see them catch their own food... it's time.
