SWFL Eagles- E21 Lifts Off From The Nest Tree, Returns, & Leaves Again!

In this video, E21 takes off from the nest tree and tries to snap off a pine stick on the fly (just like Mama Harriet). E21 flew NW towards the west pasture and a few minutes later returned to the nest tree. This beautiful juvenile came in hot, it was so windy that as E21 was "putting down his/her landing gear" a gust of wind forced the youngster to change course and loop around one more time, this time though, landing was a success! Just a quick observation.... at around minute 2:09 and 2:44 you can see that the last four secondary inner flight feathers have white markings on each wing. All the outer primary flight feathers on both wings are already dark in color. A few minutes after 1:00 PM, E21 takes off and flies west northwest. This was the last video of E21 in the area as he/she flies off to the next adventure. At the time this video was uploaded, E21 has not been seen by the camera operators, visitors, or photographers since departing on 4/29/2023. Is my personal opinion, that E21 may return to the nest area in the next couple days. Of course, as we all know, E21 is on his/her own eagle time. Please take my personal opinions with a grain of salt. This video was recorded on Saturday, April 29 of 2023. At the time this footage was recorded, E21 was 115 days old and E22 was 112 days old. I can't even express how broken my heart is. Like so many around the world, I've cried many tears since the day Harriet disappeared. But these last few weeks, watching the babies getting ready to go off on their own, has left an empty feeling in me that I've only felt one other time and that was when I had to say goodbye to my pup, Kiwi. It's been such an emotional and tough year for anyone who has watched this family from the beginning. Seeing this magnificent, brave, strong eagle, one of Harriet's last legacy and gift to the world, all grown up, with those beautiful wings spread out, soaring through the sky and knowing that the end of our journey with this special family is coming, is weighing heavy on my heart. I literally feel like I've lost members of my own family. I wish for nothing but the absolute best for 21 & 22 on this next chapter of their lives. I hope that their strong, brave, devoted and courageous warrior of a Dad, will be able to mend his broken heart and find love again one day. As for our beautiful Harriet, the queen, fearless, strong and fierce, the world misses you more than you could ever know and I will always wonder what happened to you. …They grew up from tiny little fragile fluff balls to great majestic amazing looking eagles, I am overwhelmed and welled up with tears that were hard to hold back at the joy I felt watching this, I followed them from hatching, I felt pain in my heart from seeing their hunger, fighting over fish and getting bullied as the weakest, my concern over their tough lives during their progress and what is still to come as they have to learn to hunt for survival in this hard world, they are beautiful, strong and a fierceness of their look in their gaze and stature which I stand in awe at how they have become the beauty of the skies.
