I read the Maze Runner series when I was in 6th grade. I remember that I immediately knew that these two boys had chemistry together, and that’s before I ever shipped anything else. When I started to read the Death Cure, I started to get concerned *spoilers up ahead for the book*, and tried to reassure myself that James would never actually take Newt away. When the guards outside of Denver took Newt to the Crank palace, I began to panic a bit more, and my heart broke when I read how Newt was behaving, especially when they left him behind. On page 250, I’ll have you know that something inside of me actually died. Newt represented more than the glue, he represented the survivor, someone who’s seen hell crash down all around them, and somehow managed to pick themselves up. When he died, I felt like someone had just smacked me in the face as they beat up my heart with a mallet. This video brought back that pain because it was just so on point and I’ll be honest, unforgivingly good. I remembered that I was the only one awake in the house, so I had to clutch my book to my heart sobbing. I’m the only one awake, and I’m clutching my phone, balling. You did well :)

It's strange watching the films it didn't bother me but when I read the books I sobbed and sobbed reading the letter he wrote to Thomas I cried again I was heartbroken by the whole thing yet the film nothing I have to give them credit though as the casting was spot on when I read I have in my head who I think that person is and I was happy they got it right but this is another book is better than the film situation I think it's because I have a better connection with the characters in a book and newt was a personal favourite of mine especially when I read his story in the prequel that was heart breaking in its self Read the books you will understand what I mean 😊

Anime Books13 I liked the maze runner movie ok but hated the sequels because I felt they made it a normal zombie movie. My favorite part about this series was that the disease was airborne not transferred by a bite so everyone who not immune was pretty much infected. But I love this edit I was sad when newt died 😢

The maze runner will forever be my favorite sci-fi movie, my favorite trilogy, and all together my favorite non-animated movie/s of all time. There is just so much emotion in them and the characters feel so real. Thomas and Newts relationship was so special from the beginning, and i only wish things had gone differently at the end. I also remember that Newts death scene was the single most I've ever cried in my entire life. I didn't even care that my family were there, after the soft "Tommy" as newt let go of his final breath the tears just started uncontrollably flowing. Like damn. His last words were "Tommy" and somehow that seems so fitting. And then once that was over it took me around 5 minutes to even begin calming down then of course they had to hit me with that note from Newt. And then from that point on i was just uncontrollably sobbing. Their relationship was so special. I truly wish the directors had considered making them canon, (Despite the fact that newts affection basically already is canon) but i know the audience response most likely wouldn't have been good, which is probably why they didn't go for it. That, and they might have been trying to stick as close to the books ending as they could, which i can admire. But damn, Newt of all people did not deserve to die. His death will forever be in my mind, the ultimate emotional death scene i have ever read and/or watched.
