I can’t wait for your vid on crystal. I picked up some vases and some flowers when I went thrifting today. My husband took me to a few of the good will. They’re were a couple things I couldn’t carry. One was a huge glass tray I couldn’t pick it up it was so big. There was another vase I like I got a cobalt bread dish, I can make bread in it and not worry about it coming back home. You have some good ideas that you share a medium sized glass gravy dish to warm up syrup in for pancakes. There was a nice set of milk glass with sherbet dishes. I left them because I don’t want to collect them. Although I could give them to my stepdaughter. I think I have watched all of your vids. I loved every one.

The beautiful table cloth shown in your video is actually Normandy Lace "A bit of history: Normandy lace was first made during WWI when Belgium, specifically Normandy, was so devastated by bombing and fire. All the flax fields were burned, so the lace makers, the women who supported their families by making and selling lace, had no thread, no materials to work with. The economy of that country was greatly affected. The women began gleaning scraps of lace and sewing it together in patchwork form in order to have something to sell. This tradition of patchwork lace has carried on since the 1920s." --The Rook and the Raven P.S. love your informative videos :)

Dear Lady Mary Beth, I absolutely love your vlogs. I am completely addicted. I am so glad your vlogs came on my KZbin recently. You are a true lady with such grace and elegance and I love how you describe each piece and how knowledgeable you are. Thank you for all the hard work and amazing vlogs. I am guessing you already celebrated your birthday by now but I wish you a very Happy and Healthy Belated Birthday 🎂🥳!! I keep watching to see if you ever show a baby blue glass wear set that is an antique that is clear glass on the top wear there is gold Ivy patterns all around the 6 glasses that have gold rims The bottom of the glasses are baby blue and have white Ivy patterns all around the glasses. They fit into a goldtone (possibly brass) round holder and there is a matching pitcher in the same baby blue color pattern with a gold ring around the neck. The spout of the pitcher is designed to keep ice from going into the beautiful glasses on both sides. The pitcher has a pleasant to fit into a space in the round goldtone holder with the beautiful matching glasses. I have never seen anything like them before. They are in perfect condition and were in my Mom's side of the family all unfortunately deceased now so I cannot get any information about them other than they are many generations old before being passed onto me. I would love to be able to identify them and the maker and history. I do not plan on selling them. I have no surviving family left so anything I have from family is held near and dear to me. Thank you. Sorry for the long message. I just wanted to know if what I tried to describe sounds familiar to you with your expertise in any way?

Many MANY years ago my Uncle Red was mayor of Grosse Pointe Michigan. He and my Aunt Ann raised their family there, everyone has since left the area. I purchased the cobalt and sterling piece that I held sitting on the Empire settee. Just happened to grab it to show and then realized what a gem it is! Got the Waterford Overture lamp for my friend. He was thrilled as it's been on his wish list. Good idea on the ring. My friend bought the coffeepot and Cambridge ball pitcher instead.

I wonder how do they protect these pieces during hurricanes?

We are about 60 miles inland from the Texas Gulf Coast. Hurricanes do affect us with high winds, rising water, and power outages. Would be more concerning on Galveston Island.

These “antique” collectible malls look the same everywhere you go in America. Some of this stuff is nice but most would be useless dust collectors and most is vintage not antique. The Waterford lamp was a buy though. And anything Chinese blue and white especially if it is Qing dynasty I would buy.

It’s the thrill of the hunt. Lots of great buys at “antique shops’.
