this is what happened he was hit by a car seven years ago and had a plate put into his head he came to the Nashville area and in the past year suffered an injury that required removing the plate

I saw an old man about two months ago in downtown Seattle with a head wound... about the circumference of a grapefruit was where his forehead was missing above his left eye. Looked like he had been on the bad end of a violent accident and was walking around in shock, but the sadder, real story (according to reddit in Seattle) is that he was just a homeless man suffering from both skin cancer and dementia. He apparelty has been spotted in this condition for a few years now and he has denied help, probably due to his dementia. Its incredible hes advanced this far without succumbing to infection...

It’s kind of odd to me that a person can be held if they say they want to self delete but a person is free to leave with what’s left of their frontal lobe exposed. I know the law may not apply to cases like this specifically and the hospital has legal ramifications to consider but it just seems wild to be that the guy was allowed to leave in the midst of something like that.

I didnt know that after surgery for brain swell, that the brain shrinks so much. I wonder now, how long it takes to go back to normal? Or if it does..

Depends on the injury and the person. Sometimes the brain dies anyway and so does the patient, sometimes they recover and lead a "normal" life. Sometimes it's days or weeks sometimes it's years.

Why not make a nice bandage to protect the exposure? Maybe no money? I agree that to expose this to sensitive people.. And children, is questionable.

He was in the hospital and they wouldn’t allow him to stay because he needed his vape, so it is his choice to be out of the hospital

Very inconsiderate to the public for him to just walk around with that exposed. I don’t care what he went through. He’s trying to make a scene. I would’ve had a panic attack and thrown up if I walked by this man sitting on a bench outside. Disgusting and unsanitary! What if a bird flew over and pooped on his head?!

A local news channel did end up contacting him and getting him to a hospital for treatment. When they interviewed him he said: “It’s not that I don’t want help. I do want help. Very few people have tried to help me". This would not have happened if people hadn't seen him walking around in that state!

You don’t know what this guy has been through. Neither do I. But I guarantee it’s a lot worse than whatever some people go through when seeing him.
