For those of you who are complaining of life sentence being too harsh, life sentence is what Lagos law prescribe as punishment for rape, the judge cannot give him life imprison if it is not there in the law book. Last year a doctor who raped her wife sister was also sentence to life imprison.

Pls, don't let us mix things up. Doctor Olaleye who was sentenced to life imprisonment actually defiled a MINOR, so it is different from this . This is not to say that the pastor wasn't culpable of the crime. I think the verdict was a bit too harsh & I suspect it was political motivated. I haven't read it before where a rapist was given life imprisonment especially when he is not a paedophile. However, it serves the clergyman right . Am not a supporter of rape cos it was quite disgusting & unheard of.
