I’m a Catrike guy all of the way. Started my triking by buying a used Trail which I rode 5000 miles the first year I owned it then sold it at a profit and bought a new 559 . the following year added a new 700. The 559 is my Lexus sedan and the 700 is my Porsche 911. I ride them interchangeably on a daily basis . Approaching 30,000 miles on the two of them combined. The Catrikes have been 100% reliable without any repairs other than routine wear maintenance. On occasion when I have called Catrike for info I get an individual that talks me through any issue. If I want a part my dealer calls or I call and it’s immediate delivery. They are an incredible company to do business with and it’s made in America.

I first got a Giant e-bike I loved and put 14k on, but have bad shoulder, knees and hand pain. Got the eCat 559 and love it. Have it loaded with video gear and ride the Tulsa River Parks Trails almost daily. After 2 years I added the speedbox so it easily can do 25 on flats and 30 on good down hills. It's a blast to ride and gets my HR up to 155. I'm 71 and have just over 17k on the eCat. Best heart workout I've enjoyed. :)

I own a trail. You like the 559 that much better? Why? Thx
@markfeldman65096 ай бұрын
@@Normalhowaboutyou it is much more comfortable and is much faster with the 26” wheel. The Trail,is fine but the 559 is just light years ahead of it. When taking long rides having the larger wheel just makes the trip so much easier. I have ridden the 559 nearly 20k miles and my 700 15k and they are just far better than the trail.

Thanks for the videos. Great info. I had an original WizWheels and man was it fast. But now a Sun EZ3 (sitting higher) and with both trikes I changed to thumb shifters. So much quicker and easier than twisting to change gears. I highly recommend that to older riders, like myself, for comfort.

I like your videos so much! I bought an All Terrain a few months ago because we have lots of bike paths in Florida, and I like to ride in comfort while exploring and stopping to take pictures of the gorgeous wildlife and scenery. It’s not fast, but a lot of the bike paths have a 20mph or less speed limit anyway. It is a nice ride.

Be aware that as the frame flexes, the barrel bolt that holds the seat to the frame may work loose. My solution was locktite. You will also need an Allen wrench that is larger than the typical set in the average tool box.

I'm a little prejudiced, I have owned a recumbent trike for the last 10 years. Started with the HP Velotechnik Gekko (7 years), and now I ride the HP Scorpion Enduro. I have ridden many of the other manufacturers trikes to get an idea of how they ride and handle, but at the end of the day to me HP just screams top notch Engineering, and exceptional quality of their products! Very comfortable ride, with the handling characteristics of a Formula 1. The reason I went from the Gekko to the Scorpion was the full suspension, where I ride I needed something to dampen the vibration, bumps, and rough riding surface, besides the cushioning of the tires. I got pretty beat up riding on the Gekko, would have kept it if I were riding on nothing but really smooth pavement.

Its understandable more people's purchases in trikes are dictated by affordability, it would be interesting to see stats on sales of all brands if theyre available. We could get an idea of how popular trikes are becoming overall and numbers per brand sold.

I believe that the number 559 is in millimeters, not centimeters; the 559 could be the last three digits of a range of 26-inch wheels from a 25-559 (26x1) to a 57-559 (26x2125).

I am looking for a recumbent trike bicycle analogous to a recumbent bicycle. I am using at our fitness center. Therefore I’m looking for a comfortable sit up pride where the petals are out front far enough that I didn’t get a nice combination of moving my legs a little closer or a little farther out, I’m also looking for something that is balanced because I have certain handicaps. The reason for the recomment is that it’s easier to stay balanced me to try and thirdly. I just wanna know the difference and the kind of engines to power you need most of the writing I’m doing here, Floridaright now is flat, but I’d like to be able to write it halfway decent piece and comfortable. What do you recommend?

Currently, I'm riding a Day 6 bicycle and want to stay on a bicycle for as long as possible. However, if my condition worsened, I think a trike would be the next logical step. If I was on a trike, I would want it to be on a barcolounger with wheels, also, the bike would have to be able to support substantial weight. Any suggestions?
