I only camped one time here, with a HS buddy and his family. But, I remember most of it to this day, some 45 years later. I remember the little bridge, and the fog truck - oh, man, it's a wonder we all didn't keel over when that thing went by. We made some new friends there, 2 girls from Quebec, a guy from Indiana named Fred Savage (not the one from the Wonder Years show, obviously) & a girl from near where lived in VA. Funny, we never connected when we returned home. Thx for sharing your video

Wow we camped here in 1963 to 1966, what great childhood memories, putt-putt golf on the beach, fishing, the camp store, canoeing. I remember at age 10, I phone called from Ohio and asked how the weather was. Dad was furious I made a long distance call that cost a couple bucks. Then laughed I had the courage to make a call knowing id be in trouble.

My pleasure, Norman. If you would like to relive more of those memories, come on over and join us on our Facebook group. We have hundreds of old campers like us who share in their appreciation of Lake Arrowhead and the Myrtle Beach of old. Lots of vintage photos, postcards, stories, and memorabilia. We'd love to hear your memories. No charge, and the tide is in.

@lotsofpooches - You may have been there different years, but imagine that the kids in these movies represent all of us. I have movies stretching up to 1971, so stay tuned.

*cough, cough, cough - plug your nose, there comes the sprayer truck!!!* The woman and the little girl around the table with the red table cloth could pass for my mom and my sister! :-) But that would have been 10-15 years later! :-)) Despite some familiar landmarks, the place didn't looke QUITE like that when we vacationed there - 1975- 1978 - but we certainly loved it enough to make the journey from Canada 4 years in a row! :-))) Elizabeth! :-)

Thx Wayne. I have 14 other related videos posted of Lake Arrowhead and Myrtle Beach in the 1960s. I hope you find enjoyment from those as well. For more memories and sharing with fellow camping alumni, check out our Facebook forum "Remembering Lake Arrowhead Campground-Myrtle Beach SC".
