Hello guys, I can't say enough about the amazing comfort the Lake's CX241 road shoes give me, I'm extremely happy to say these shoes have changed my desire to want to ride more miles and more times throughout the week. I'm a 22 year Vet for the USAF, the issued boots have spread and developed new feet for me, as a result I needed some TLC for my feet, well I'm here to say I have to look no more and will not think twice when choosing the right cycling shoe for these million dollar feet Thank you Lake CX241 wide cycling shoe.

yea... I got the 241 - and prefer them over all other models... and I would prefer a flat bottom and use a custom orthotic. I think I will go full custom with Simmons... they have a flat sole design. My 241 work very well with Solstar red inserts. The solitary did not work well in my BONT vapor

Got the MX241-X for gravel and fondos. For that they are soooo good! High end performance and next level comfort. No feet pain whatsoever even after riding gravel 8 hours+. Three issues. 1: despite heat molding I still got a tiny little heel slip. Well, that's probably down to my ugly shaped feet... 2: they are too soft for full on road racing. Some training is fine though. 3: when it's getting cold and nasty they are utterly useless. However, I cannot stress enough how well they perform during long days out in the summer.

Thanks for input! When you heat mold, need to keep massaging for 5-8 minutes until it’s completely cold. I had to do it twice and learned the second time.

Sorry, what do you mean utterly useless in the cold?
@turboplopp2 жыл бұрын
@@lethargic_cow The 241 are vented quite well so when temperatures drop below 10°C for the most part of a ride I definitely use other shoes. I usually don't suffer from cold feet, but even with thick booties I wouldn't use them below 0°C. And since they got mesh inserts on the side of the shoe they don't do particularly well in the rain, even with booties. The i.E. the MX332 are much warmer and better suited for nasty weather. Hope this helps..

Looking forward to your review on 241. I just placed order on 332 but I was pondering about 241. I come from CX 331 but had to get a little larger size than optimal due to my width being a little larger than proper length (they only had wide back then). Have you ever had experience with curvature of 331 vs either of the newer shoes by any chance?
@addictcyclist2 жыл бұрын
I returned the 241. I will make a follow up review though. They were the most comfortable shoes I ever tried BUT not for my riding style. The upper was too flexy and my foot was squirming because of the open style. The carbon last was also not as stiff as the 332. They were springing out of saddle efforts. While seated, I could flex the carbon pretty significantly with my foot in the shoe and pulling / flexing the sole. I race and put out seated efforts of 500w+ and 1100-1200w sprints. The shoes are for more all day touring and fondo use. You made a good decision on the 332.

@@addictcyclist Seems they use this composite for 2021 models 241 (maybe starting from 2020). I have an older model which actually has a pure carbon sole as 332. But on your video, Lake writes CarbonFiber on the sole... it's confusing. I have cx201 which have this composite sole and indeed there is a good flex.

Nice video again. You mentioned how the size of one shoe was 115 and the other was 111. Despite being a 4mm difference, you said they both felt comfortable. What is the measurement of your toe box then? I am looking at two shoes from lake and they have a 5mm difference between each other in the toe box. I am not sure if I should order the one that matches my toe box exactly in width.

The CX241 (normal width) are much too wide at the heels for me. Heat molding didn't change much..Its just too wide and slippery. NeverthelessI the toe and middle sectiion are quite accurate with 105.9 mm width for my feet. But as there are many people facing this issue, there must be shoes out there, that provide both.. But so far I researched, it is ridiculous. The Shimano S-Phyre SH-RC902E Wide are seemingly too small. One guy said, they are 95mm at 28mm length. Fiziks TEMPO OVERCURVE R4 WIDE seem to be much too wide for me. Like 111mm and this goes for the normal version! I'm so tired of looking.. Would be glad, if someone, can relate to that or has some tips. Thank you

Check out my other vids. The Sidi shot 2 have been my answer. Having the closing mechanism on the tongue and the volume the shoe has, it been amazing. Only the shot 3 though. Other models are too narrow. Paired with solestar insoles, I have never been happier!

Hi. This may be common knowledge, but my bike fit guy showed me how to put cx241 on so your heel is actually locked in (even w without heat molding - and I need to tighten them a bit too!). Put on the shoe and gently tap the floor with the back of the shoe so your heel gets pushed against it. Tie upper boa to lock the foot in the shoe Than tighten lower (toe box) Boa. Blew my mind.

I recommend using their sizing chart and outlining your foot and measure. That’s the best way to fit lake. Go a 1/2 size hanger than Lake recommends

Bro, what you are describing is an issue with cleat placement. Don't play with you seat aft / fore. Get it set and leave it, preferably by a bike fitter. If you are dipping your heals excessively, you prob have your cleats mounted too far backwards. I'd also look at actually getting fitted for your ideal cleat position.
@addictcyclist Жыл бұрын
It was a combo of issues. Saddle height needed to be increased almost 10mm BUT because of the scoop sole, the cleat was flexing under load and not allowing free float. My Sidi shot 3 been flawless
