Bought a pair of these CX332's in Wide last week. I originally had Shimano RC701's and upgraded to RC702's. Same size with E width, but the fit is different. After an hour of riding the outer midfoot was experiencing pain. Backing off the Boa's just meant a loose shoe and didn't resolve the issue. First ride on the Lake's was 100ks. They were like putting my feet into firm slippers. So comfortable, yet firm through the pedal stroke. I can't tell the difference with any measurements, and didn't need to adjust seat height or setback, but can certainly attest to the comfort over long distances, which is all I'm really after.

I just bought the new CX333. My first new pair of road bike shoes after 12 years and extremely expensive for my liking. But I searched for so long to find a fitting shoe again... all the size 48's I tried (US size 14), my left foot was actually touching the front and being squeezed in a bit. So I bit into the sour apple. And they do look fancy... Anyways. I went on a 160 km bike trip, and because I was afraid my feet might react badly to the new shoes, I brought my old shoes along via my Ortlieb Quick Rack. In the end: I'm happy that I did not get any foot pain and did not waste all that money.

I bought these a while back and the stack is a factor initially then i got used to it + the sole curve, tho the shape is also able to be got used too but they're top-end shoes and do perform, tho do remind me of some old Specializeds that died a worn death. I've also recently got some 338's which are seriously wide and they're crazy to ride with as ive never had wide shoe till Lake..

I’m a CX238 user. Regarding insoles, I have also had good luck with Superfeet Carbon. The aftermarket Lake heat moldable insoles are also very good. More expensive than the Superfeet but customizable.

I tried the lake aftermarket insoles. Didn’t work for me but soleststar is a game changer in my Sidi Shot 2 😎

Nice video. I am transitioning from Sidi to Lake CX238. By any chance do you know if there is any information out there about sole thickness? I would like to compare those so I can adjust my saddle accordingly and not only just eyeball it. Or maybe do you know a way to accurately assess the high of the sole?
@addictcyclist2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! The sole on the 238 will not be much thicker than the Sidi. The 332 will be 7mm. I measure the sole by using a ruler pressed at the ball of the sole and mark the height on the wall with a pencil.
@wesw678710 ай бұрын
@@addictcyclist how did you arrive at 7mm? When measuring my 332 I measured the sole thickness at around 18mm...its very thick. Lake mentions it should be between 6.5-7.5mm but I cant see how that is possible.

Hey buddy, question regarding CX332, do these have carbon tubs like the CX403? I had the CX403 but the carbon sole/tub digs into my foot and gets painful after a 5-10mins of riding.
@addictcyclist2 ай бұрын
Hey they do not have a tub

I bought CX332 yesterday and I tested it on trainer. but I can't feel difference this and Shimano S-phyre RC902(stack height is 4.8mm). cx332 stack height is 7mm? OMG! I will use bont vaypor S (3.6mm) together on same bike... how should I set my saddle height? haha!
@addictcyclist2 жыл бұрын
Stack height is different for sure. I increased 3mm higher than I was and was good.

Sole makes insoles for wide toe box shoes if that helps. Heat moldable too

Thanks, tried those as well. I placed order for the met pad version two days ago :)

@@addictcyclist good luck. I like the cork ones. Softer and easier to get used to. They are all zero drop vs super feet so do not change mechanics of the shoe.
@addictcyclist2 жыл бұрын
@@pgreenx do they make the cork in thin?
@pgreenx2 жыл бұрын
They make every possible combination:thin,med and thick / regular and wide toe box /with and without met pad. The cork are the active ones and performance are better if you need heat molding and waterproof. The performance ones never agreed with my feet. I do like the cork one. good luck

Exactly, is the mold shoe manufacturers use to form a shoe from. In other words a fake foot as you just mentioned.
