I lived in Queensbury which is a bike ride to Lake George. I went to school with Charlene Wood (her father owned 1/2 the lake lol) and had a friend who lived next door to Sun Castle so sometimes she'd hang out with us. This was back in the 70's. It's a beautiful area to live in.

I worked at Storytown from about 1968 - 1971. I wore that striped jumper as a ride operator and I was a can dancer. A great time of my life.

I remember both places, as well as Frontier Town well. We lived about 60-70 miles from there in Troy. I also remember the BEST fast food joint ever A&W Root Beer! We would constantly ride the Ticondaroga, Mini Ha Ha and Mohican...What a great place to visit. Lake George and Bolton Landing!

I use to go to Lake George from 1972 to 1983. when was this home movie taken do you remember the week? also use to stay at the marathon Flamingo in diamond point where did you stay?
@Bayan190510 жыл бұрын
Yep, it was a wonderful place, and now its over run every summer by rude and obnoxious people from NYC, New Jersey and points south who act like they own the place and treat the locals like a doormat. Outside of the big car show in September, I stay out of the village now. Most locals avoid it like a bad STD. Six Flags ruined Great Escape / Story Town and Gaslight Village is now a vacant lot.
@CharlieGordonRailfan9 жыл бұрын
Bayan1905 I haven't been to Lake George in years, it about brought me to tears to find out about Gaslight Village was completely gone. I was there when it closed. And Six Flags ruined Riverside park here in Western Mass too. I loved the locals at Lake George, they were a world apart from NYC people. Is the Enchanted Forest, and Waterslide World still there?
@Bayan19059 жыл бұрын
Enchanted Forest is still there but I have been told half the rides don't work and its hanging on by a thread. Waterslide World is there but you never see many people there during the summer, not like there used to be.

+Walking the Shadows Yeah, After the Olympics it ruined everything. It's quaintness gone forever. killed by commercialism. Look how nice everyone dressed then.That whole area was magical for me as a kid. I hate what we have become, it was much better then.
