zechary taylor yep they are but I don’t keep to many fish when I have enough for a couple meals, very easy to reel in slow and release unharmed, but definitely easy to catch limits just trust your electronics before fishing

Thanks for all your research on the catch and release laws. That was very enlightening.

Pretty sure the law is Catch 5 a day per person , if you release the fish it counts as part of your creel. People catch 5 and keep all 5 per person , because the fish do not survive being pulled out of deep cool water to a hot 85+° surface temperature. Catch your 5 per person and leave or quit fishing for Striper that day. Do it for the fishery and for the other sportsmen

Please read the description for the video and SC Title 50 Code of Laws or read the description provided which is hyper linked back to the Code of Laws, let me know then if you have any questions. I also provided the description for possession limits also. Given the definition, I sure hope everyone is making sure they eat those stripers before they catch another limit.

Hey boss. I am not trying to be mean but you are not allowed to release any stripers this time of year on lake Murray. If you get caught it is a hefty fine. It’s a keep what you catch 5 limit.

Hi Jason, We have read the regulations in detail. Here are the regs. On Lake Murray and the middle reach of the Saluda River it is unlawful to possess more than five striped bass a day. From June 1st through September 30th, it is unlawful to take, attempt to take, or possess more than five striped bass a day. On Lake Murray and the middle reach of the Saluda River from October 1st through May 31st, it is unlawful to possess a striped bass less than 21 inches in total length. From June 1st to September 30th there is no minimum length." We never attempted to take or keep , or possess any more than 4 fish total. Nowhere does it say fish can not be released prior to keeping your limit.

Jason i looked at the fishing regulation also, no where does it say fish cannot be released. They cannot enforce anything not spelt out in the fishing reg.

I looked also and even called DNR. You are right!!! They do not have anything saying you have to keep them. I do apologize for that. I was just always told to keep them. I’m still a fan and subscriber!!!!!!

Jason Hosack Jason no problem, I was always told that too but am trying to make sure everyone know the law, I spent two hours of researching sc law to reach the conclusion in my description, I have been guilty of getting regs by word of mouth and this is an example of how dangerous that can be. Better safe than sorry but I knew what was legal before this video just need time to do research of what I previous read and put ittogether coherently, I appreciate the response and glad you watch, people’s outrage, not you, has made me question whether to keep posting
