Looks good as a broad policy statement. Getting standards for new land use distribution and actual development is the next critical step. Who do we hire to write those standards and which elected officials will advocate for that step ? Jim Studiale, AICP

Thanks for your feedback! Agreed, standards are key to implementation of the Lake Wales Envisioned effort. As part of this effort, among other regulatory tools, we are working on a draft Traditional Neighborhood Development ordinance that, if adopted, would help to ensure that the ideas expressed above are incorporated into future development in Lake Wales. The Lake Wales City Commission has already adopted a list of key aspirations that are the foundation of the Lake Wales Envisioned effort. It’s important that residents stay plugged in and advocate for responsible development into the future as well.
